What you'll do:
- As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will be responsible for directing daily operations of the ecommerce pharmacy of our Pharmacy Fulfillment Center
- Ensure adherence to facility SOPs and compliance with applicable law
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and interns
- Assist with investigations and in documentation and completion of Adverse Drug Event forms
- Work with training team
- Support compliance
- Keep senior leadership fully informed of operating issues and results
- Writing operational and production SOPs
- Representing facility on Pharmacy Compliance Committee
- Support order verification within computer order processing queue to ensure facility and product accuracy
- Ensure safe work environments, enforcing operational discipline and monitoring aseptic behaviors
- Work with Legal and Compliance to maintain all applicable licenses
- Maintain all necessary records established by local, state, and federal agencies
- Efficiently perform all professional duties including, but not limited to, the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution, and control of all prescription medications and products, ensure the overall safety and security of the pharmacy
- Maintain responsible for the interpretation and verification of medication orders and review prescriber medication orders to identify possible dosing, scheduling, contraindication, allergy, drug interaction, and/or incompatibility problems.
- Communicate with Veterinarians and their staff and Pet Parents as required.
- Oversee nonsterile compounding operation and work with Head Compounding Pharmacist (HCP) and staff to maintain compliance with USP < 795> standards.
- Ensure production goals are created, tracked, and met
- Identify trends or issue delaying batch production or causing batches to be cancelled
- Must have knowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding.
- In collaboration with HCP, act as Supervisory Compounding Pharmacist to:
- Complete sufficient training to allow for supervision of all compounding activities.
- Complete and keep on file an up-to-date compounding pharmacist personnel file.
- Oversee Performance Improvement Programs
- Upholds operational standards including performance metrics, safety, and compliance.
- Perform all related duties and assignments as required for an ecommerce pharmacy
- Focus on customer satisfaction, ensure Chewy provides superior service using best practices and prompt engagement.
- Position may require travel.
What you'll need:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Pharmacy
- Must have an active pharmacy license in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing (required), with additional licenses (or ability to achieve licensing within a specific time frame)
- Willing to gain any additional license as required
- Strong customer services and attention to detail
- Ability to lead a team in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work a variety of schedules including, evenings, holidays, and weekends
