Performance Marketing ManagerAbout Compose.ly

We are an industry-leading SEO and content marketing agency that delivers measurable results through SEO insights and the creation of blog content, white papers, case studies, landing pages, and more.

Founded in 2017, Compose.ly was born from a team of entrepreneurs and content marketing experts with a proven track record of building successful brands. Compose.ly is a rare thing – a growing, profitable startup that has yet to take any outside investors. We’ve built this business through grit, hard work, and smart decision-making. We're organized, experienced, and in growth mode, and we are looking for fellow entrepreneurs to join our team.

Job Overview

Compose.ly is seeking a strategic, data-driven, entrepreneurial Performance Marketing Manager to build and lead a brand-new PPC service offering for Compose.ly clients from the ground up.  In addition to launching this new offering, this role will own Compose.ly’s internal paid media strategy, running campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Bing, and paid social to drive lead generation and growth.  This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, and is motivated by the opportunity to build a new offering while driving meaningful, measurable results.

Responsibilities:

Client PPC Service Creation & Ownership

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of Compose.ly’s new paid media service: turning an established vision into launch, iteration, and measurable growth.
  • In partnership with the Director of SEO, build a complementary paid media service: define deliverables, outline pricing models, set up tools and reporting systems, and create a repeatable delivery framework.
  • Act as the founding operator for the service, personally managing initial client accounts while refining best practices and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales, account management, and marketing teams to craft clear messaging that communicates the value of the paid media service, develop sales and marketing materials (i.e. pitch decks, one-pagers, and case studies), and build smooth onboarding workflows to ensure new clients have a seamless and professional experience from sign-up to campaign launch.
  • Use early client feedback to continually evolve the service offering and prepare it for scaling (via team expansion or process automation).
  • Document all aspects of the service, creating SOPs and templates that enable future team members to deliver with consistency and quality.
Internal Paid Media Strategy & Execution
  • Plan, manage, and continuously optimize paid campaigns across Google Ads, Bing, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Conduct end-to-end campaign planning and execution, including keyword research, audience segmentation, A/B testing (ad copy, creatives, and landing pages), and continuous landing page optimization to improve conversion rates and campaign ROI.
  • Set and manage advertising budgets to ensure we're getting strong results — bringing in high-quality leads at a low cost, and generating more revenue than we spend on ads.
  • Analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or similar; generate regular reports and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with content, SEO, and design teams to ensure alignment between paid efforts and broader marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain a 4-5x ROAS
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns across several platforms including but not limited to: Google, Microsoft, Youtube, and Meta.
  • Proven track record of driving performance (leads, sales, or revenue) through paid digital media.
  • Experience pricing and delivering marketing services to clients or building a new offering from scratch is a strong plus.
  • Highly analytical mindset with deep familiarity using platforms like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter mentality with comfort working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Highly collaborative and likes working as part of a team. Enjoys educating people on the value and how-to behind paid media.
  • Agency experience or experience consulting clients directly.
  • Background in content marketing or SEO.
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS or service-based business models.
  • Forward-looking, AI-curious mindset that actively explores and pilots emerging AI advertising tools and opportunities..
Compensation & Benefits
  • 100% coverage for the employee for private health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 13 paid holidays each year
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • 401k participation
  • Remote work equipment as needed
