Performance Marketing Director
The Performance Marketing Director is a strategic, data-driven leader responsible for designing and executing a full-funnel digital acquisition and conversion strategy that drives new client growth in the financial services sector. This role oversees all paid digital channels—including Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, CTV, and Retargeting—and leads end-to-end optimization of the digital funnel to improve account-opening completion rates and overall conversion performance. Leveraging deep expertise in digital advertising, analytics, customer behavior, and experimentation, this leader will architect high-impact marketing programs that deliver strong cost-of-acquisition results and measurable business growth. Beyond hands-on performance management, the Performance Marketing Director is accountable for crafting compelling strategic narratives and performance readouts for senior leadership, translating complex insights into actionable recommendations. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams across Web, Product, Analytics, Finance, and Compliance to ensure aligned go-to-market execution, exceptional customer experiences, and regulatory integrity. This leader must be highly innovative, proactive, and comfortable challenging the status quo—continually identifying opportunities to test, optimize, and scale new strategies that increase acquisition efficiency and accelerate growth in a highly competitive financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develops and leads full-funnel digital acquisition strategies to drive new client growth while meeting cost-of-acquisition and ROI targets.
- Owns onsite conversion optimization, including funnel analysis, landing page performance, and experimentation to improve completion rates and reduce abandonment across channels.
- Builds and delivers strategic presentations and performance narratives for executive audiences, translating complex data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and roadmaps.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Web, Product, Analytics, Finance, Brand, and Compliance teams to ensure cohesive customer experiences, aligned messaging, and compliant execution.
- Manages a high-performing acquisition team and agency partners, ensuring efficient resource allocation and continuous campaign optimization informed by data, competitive insights, and market trends.
- Defines KPIs and measurement frameworks for acquisition and conversion performance; monitors dashboards, diagnoses channel and funnel performance, and implements ongoing improvements.
- Oversees complex, multi-channel marketing budgets, ensuring spend remains within plan while reallocating investments based on performance, forecasts, and business priorities.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in digital or performance marketing.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in marketing analytics and the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in performance marketing leadership roles within banking, financial services, or fintech.
- Demonstrated success owning multi‑million‑dollar marketing budgets, optimizing spend across channels, and forecasting performance to meet acquisition and ROI targets.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, including building executive-level performance readouts and strategic narratives.
