Position Summary

You will own, maintain, and govern the Altium component library and Altium Enterprise Server infrastructure. This role is vital to ensure absolute configuration control, traceability, and strict adherence to space-grade high-reliability standards for 5-year production mission VPX cards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Altium Enterprise Server Administration: Administer user access rights, role-based security, revision control, and data integrity within the Altium Enterprise environment.
  • Space-Grade Footprint Design: Create and verify IPC-compliant footprints tailored specifically for compliance with IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum and IPC-6012 Space Addendum.
  • EEE Level 3 Classification: Manage and enforce the parameter sets for EEE-INST-002 Level 3 component selections, ensuring accurate screening and tracking labels in the database.
  • Automotive & COTS Up-Screening Support: Track, classify, and manage parametric metadata for commercial and automotive-grade parts, including AEC-Q101 and AEC-Q200 components.
  • PEM Component Governance: Define and track structural parameters and risk profiles for PEMs (Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits) utilized in spaceflight designs. [3] 
  • Derating Rule Enforcement: Embed and automate part-level derating criteria within Altium parameter schemas to support engineering compliance with electrical stress rules.
  • Lifecycle & Obsolescence Governance: Track component lifecycles meticulously to support 5+ year production cycles; mitigate risk by proactively qualifying approved alternates.
  • Process Workflow Enforcement: Manage the Altium Part Request process, ensuring engineering requests are fully vetted for quality, parametric accuracy, and spaceflight heritage before release.
  • Ability to support travel or off-site work, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related experience (or 4+ years with an Engineering/Technical Bachelor’s degree)
  • Experience managing electronic component libraries, library governance, and CAD data systems
  • Deep proficiency in Altium Designer and Altium Enterprise Server administration
  • Space & Automotive Standards: Working knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 Space, IPC-6012 Space, EEE-INST-002, AEC-Q100/101/200, and PEM screening/qualification methodologies
  • Hardware Domain: Experience handling high-density, high-reliability form factors like VPX boards
  • Manufacturing Integration: Proven experience managing contract manufacturer data requirements and resolving component-level solderability or manufacturing defects

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $63,000 - $149,000

Please Note: Actual compensation offered will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, business considerations, and geographic location where applicable.
