Job Summary:

We are looking for a Payroll, Tax, and Compliance Administrator who treats payroll not just as a process, but as a critical employee experience. You are the subject matter expert who ensures our multi-state team is paid accurately, our tax footprint is spotless, and our financial wellness programs thrive. Primary Duties Including % of time:
Payroll Orchestration & Scalability (50%)
- Precision Execution: Manage end-to-end, multi-state payroll (semi-monthly) including commissions, complex bonuses, and gross-ups with 100% accuracy.
- System Integrity: Oversee all deductions, from 401(k) contributions and loans to health & welfare and garnishments.
- Process Evolution: Actively audit and refine workflows to ensure our payroll engine is scalable as we continue to grow.
- Year-End Mastery: Lead the charge on monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, ensuring seamless W-2 distribution.
- Jurisdictional Expert: Own the Rippling tax engine; manage state and local tax registrations and resolve any jurisdictional notices with speed and authority.
- Regulatory Guardian: Monitor federal and state tax changes, ensuring Rippling's automated workflows and "recipes" are correctly configured to stay ahead of FLSA and statutory shifts.
- Financial Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the Finance team on accounting reconciliations and compliance items.
- Audit Defense: Lead company audits for Payroll, 401(k), and Workers' Comp, ensuring we remain a "gold standard" organization.
- Plan Administration: Act as the primary touchpoint for employees regarding 401(k) loans, rollovers, and discrepancies.
- Wellness Architect: Develop and execute a comprehensive Financial Wellness Plan to empower our employees to build long-term wealth.
- Fiduciary Participation: Serve as a key voice on the Company’s Fiduciary Committee.
- The Multi-State Pro: You have 5+ years of "battle-tested" experience in complex payroll tax and compliance.
- The Analytical Sleuth: You don't just see numbers; you see patterns. You have a knack for catching discrepancies before they become issues.
- Ambiguity Specialist: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can make sound, compliant decisions even when the "whole picture" is still coming into focus.
- Employee Advocate: You provide high-touch customer service, translating complex tax or payroll jargon into clear, empathetic communication.
- Tech-Savvy: You navigate HRIS systems and Excel with ease and are always looking for ways to use technology to work smarter.
