Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and execute the APAC strategy for the FinTech, TP3 and VASP franchise, aligned with firmwide priorities, market opportunities and the firm’s risk appetite.
  • Own regional sales, revenue, pipeline and portfolio-growth objectives, with clear accountability for sustainable business performance across priority markets.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing regional team; establish clear objectives, strengthen succession and talent pipelines, and foster an inclusive, collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Act as the senior relationship lead for strategic clients and prospects, engaging C-suite stakeholders and coordinating the firm’s resources to deliver differentiated, client-led solutions.
  • Drive client acquisition, cross-sell and wallet-share growth across the full Payments proposition, including cash management, liquidity, foreign exchange and information management solutions.
  • Maintain active dialogue with clients and industry participants; identify emerging trends and represent the firm through executive briefings, industry forums and thought-leadership engagements.
  • Provide senior oversight of the sector’s risk and control agenda, including client selection, due diligence, KYC, AML, sanctions and ongoing monitoring, with timely escalation of material issues.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations and other control functions to maintain robust governance and ensure growth is delivered within relevant regulatory frameworks and internal standards.
  • Mobilize regional and global partners across Payments, Corporate Banking, Markets, Investment Banking and the wider Corporate & Investment Bank to deliver integrated solutions and consistent execution.
  • Develop scalable sector value propositions, strategic partnerships and go-to-market initiatives that strengthen the firm’s competitive position and support innovation across APAC.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in FinTechs, third-party payment processors, VASPs, payments, cash management or a closely related financial-services sector.
  • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including leading local or regional teams, developing talent and delivering results through others.
  • Deep understanding of the APAC FinTech, TP3 and VASP landscape, regulatory environment and competitive dynamics; an established regional industry network is strongly preferred.
  • Proven record of setting strategy, originating complex opportunities, delivering sustainable revenue growth and managing senior client relationships across multiple APAC markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a complex matrix organization and align senior stakeholders across products, geographies and control functions.
  • Strong knowledge of sector-specific risks, including client selection, KYC, AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring and regulatory expectations.
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity and executive presence, with the ability to manage sensitive matters, make sound decisions and communicate effectively with clients, regulators and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic, commercial and client-focused mindset, supported by strong analytical, negotiation and communication capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or another relevant discipline; an advanced degree or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
