Note: Relocation assistance is not provided.
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student for JD Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

  • Provide support to the Quality Engineering team at John Deere , learning what it takes to be a Quality Engineer at John Deere.
  • Utilize existing data and technology in support of team objectives
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams - operations, quality, material flow, design, and others - to drive concurrent engineering


This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need

  • Pursing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Ability to work 16-20 hours weekly during the academic year
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester
  • Strong communication skills
  • Well organized with effective time management skills
  • Graduation date Spring of 2026 or later


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with Python and SQL programming languages
  • Strong proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization
  • Experience with Power Bi, Tableau, Minitab, Databricks, and/or Alteryx

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
