Project Overview

We are looking for a part-time data analyst contractor to build dashboards, conduct ad-hoc analyses, and provide data insights to our customers. The primary goal is to enhance customer retention and growth by delivering actionable insights that improve our partnerships, help customers optimize their programs, and unlock new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Data Dashboards – Develop dashboards to help customers understand platform usage, learner engagement, and performance metrics.
  • Ad-Hoc Customer Analysis – Provide deeper data insights for high-priority customers, including those at risk of churn.
  • Product & Business Performance Analysis – Analyze how users interact with our platform, identify trends in course engagement, and measure key business metrics.
  • Customer Support on Data Queries – Assist customers in querying and interpreting their data, ensuring they can derive insights independently.
  • Data Documentation & Best Practices – Establish documentation or guides to help internal teams and customers better navigate our data.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years eExperience in data analysis, BI, or analytics consulting, ideally in EdTech, SaaS, or Learning & Development.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Snowflake, Excel, and Sisense
  • Ability to extract and interpret both product usage and business performance data.
  • Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to learn BenchPrep’s data model and customer-specific implementations to provide tailored insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer-facing discussions (approximately 30% of the role).

Engagement Model

  • Part-time contractor (~20 hours per week) with potential for expansion based on impact.
  • $40-$70 / hour based on experience
  • Remote role, with availability for scheduled check-ins and customer calls during Central Time hours.
  • Work primarily involves independent analysis with some customer-facing interactions for presenting findings and assisting with data queries.
