We are looking for a Packaging Specialist to be a part of our growing Fulfillment team. You will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining packaging materials and supplies across the supply chain. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, accurate tracking, and timely procurement of packaging components to support production and fulfillment operations.

This role will join Hungryroot’s Operations team and you will report directly to our (Director of optimization). In this critical role you will (This role involves overseeing and optimizing inventory levels for packaging materials, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy, and collaborating with procurement and production teams to forecast needs. Responsibilities include maintaining detailed records in inventory systems, managing incoming shipments, resolving discrepancies, and organizing storage efficiently. Compliance with safety, quality, and sustainability standards is crucial, alongside integrating AI processes to streamline operations. Ideal candidates possess 2+ years of inventory or warehouse experience, attention to detail, proficiency in inventory systems, and strong communication skills, with knowledge of packaging materials being advantageous. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of packaging materials (e.g., boxes, labels, containers, inserts)
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to forecast packaging needs
  • Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS)
  • Receive, inspect, and log incoming packaging shipments for quality and quantity
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies or material shortages
  • Communicate with vendors regarding delivery timelines, order issues, and reorders
  • Organize storage areas for efficient access and stock rotation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sustainability standards
  • Continually integrate AI processes into your workflow and to simplify IT for the organization, so you can spend time on the most meaningful work.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of inventory, supply chain, or warehouse experience with produce (packaging experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Fishbowl)
  • Ability to lift and move packaging materials as needed
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and specifications is a plus

Expected Pay Range

$67,000- $80,000
