The Senior Leadership Development Consultant is an Organizational effectiveness consultant that advances business effectiveness through high-impact leadership development. This role is a critical part of Thrivent’s Enterprise Learning and Development team and has accountabilities for leadership development and team effectiveness programs across all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to senior leaders. This role reports to the Director, Enterprise Learning and Development.
The Senior Leadership Development Consultant is an individual who can effectively collaborate with Learning & Development, Talent Management, Human Resources, and senior leaders across the organization. This individual is a performance consultant who can create, develop, and execute learning solutions to build leadership capability in individual contributors and leaders of others. The Senior Leadership Development Consultant will possess excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills and must have the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
This position may be remote within the US, but candidates within commutable distance to Minneapolis, MN or Appleton, WI are preferred.

         

          

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of leadership development and effectiveness programs across the enterprise, business unit/division and team level
  • Develop and manage leadership development programs for mid- and senior-level leaders and oversee programs for leading self and leading others, including communication, nomination, facilitation, event management and program analysis
  • Identifies, designs, and develops frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities critical to long-term and short-term objectives
  • Collaborates with leadership across the enterprise and within HR to gain business insight and input for program design and implementation plans and uses data to learn, iterate, and adapt programs and processes based on metrics, outcomes and industry best practices
  • Demonstrate and maintain leading edge expertise to ensure Thrivent implements the most effective programs and processes to drive organizational outcomes
  • Manage multiple projects and processes in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Anticipate requirements to support the larger-scale development needs within and across teams and build plans to develop resources and skills accordingly

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in applicable field required (Human Resources, Psychology, Business)
  • 8-10+ years of related experience in learning, consulting or program management roles related to large scale organizational effectiveness initiatives
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring leadership development programs/processes across the enterprise
  • Expert facilitation skills including experience with large and small groups in multiple modalities
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and principles, and digital learning, just-in-time, and blended learning strategies

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or certification in formal instructional design, training & development, and human resources fields preferred
  • Certification and experience facilitating Situational Leadership II and certifications in Insights Discovery, StrengthsFinders, or similar assessments preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources, organization development or business management capacity preferred
  • Experience in financial services and/or fraternal benefit societies preferred

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $107,125.00 - $144,933.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
