Location: Lexington Plant

Salary: $120,000 – $150,000

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120K–$150K, with final compensation based on experience, skills, education, and location.

Owens & Minor, a Fortune 500 healthcare solutions company, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Manufacturing Operations Leader to support our Lexington manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading plant operations, developing production teams, and driving performance in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader with manufacturing operations, plant management, or production leadership experience who wants to make an impact in healthcare manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily manufacturing and plant operations

  • Manage production teammates, maintenance associates, and process technicians

  • Drive performance in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer service

  • Identify operational challenges and implement improvement initiatives

  • Support LEAN manufacturing initiatives and cost reduction projects

  • Manage operational budgets, schedules, and performance metrics

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), regulatory requirements, and EHS policies

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to meet business objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or plant operations leadership experience

  • Experience leading teams and collaborating across departments

Preferred

  • Experience in nonwovens or converting manufacturing

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, depending on the work assignment

  • Work around fast-operating manufacturing machinery

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-responsibility and potentially stressful environments

  • Ability to respond to audible alarms, signals, pages, and verbal communication

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including:

    • Eye protection

    • Steel toe footwear

    • Hearing protection

    • Respiratory protection
