Job Description
The role of the Ops Program Manager includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Provides leadership and direction of complex Operations programs for Operations functions during all phases of program execution beginning with the proposal to client delivery and sign off
  • Assure the accomplishment of programs goals through the efficient and effective utilization of Operations resources
  • Provide a single point of contact between Operations and the Program office for providing program status and resolving problems
  • Presents Operations status to customer, Program Management and or Operations Management as required
  • Coordinate preparation of estimates for all Operations functions by requesting input from appropriate Operations sources
  • Ensure that the operation team provides a competitively priced, accurate, supportable cost proposal within time and budget constraints as previously agreed to with the Proposal manager
  • Interface with the appropriate organizations within Operations to ensure any changes which will impact assigned tasks have been appropriately communicated and addressed
  • Plan all Operations functions in a manner consistent with the Statement of work negotiated with the customer and applicable Management Directives and Practices
  • Support Operations position during audits, fact finding and negotiations by participating with Program Management in all phases to assure arbitrary concessions are not made
  • Call on other Operations organizations to provide support as required and acts as the coordinating authority to change Operations estimated costs, based on agreed upon changes in scope
  • Promotes a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting various phases of the program efforts
  • Maintain state of the art knowledge by keeping abreast of new procedures and methods to streamline manufacturing processes
  • Furnish support to the Appropriate Program Manager for monthly management reviews and support Program Management and Engineering to discuss customer and program issues as well as future business and program activities
  • Generate and execute the Manufacturing Plan which provides the ground rules of the contract requirements to Operations in compliance with Service Level Agreements
  • Responsible for level loading the factory based on capacity by requirement, contract and company revenue plan
  • Review and approve all change orders
  • Review parts lists for required data, monitor and provide direction to the supply chain planner and focus factory buyer, production test, manufacturing, inspection and shipping to ensure all internal schedule and contract delivery dates are met
  • Chair a Tier team meeting weekly which includes manufacturing, production test, reliability engineering, product excellence (QA), program management, Industrial engineering and engineering to discuss and resolve any issues that arise during the production cycle
  • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing material cost as well as cost performance index for all assigned programs.
  • Read and understand drawings on part issues and direct to the appropriate faction.
  • Manage vendors during production cycle including on-site visits to confirm program status and review recovery plans where required
  • Review pricing on purchase order to ensure programs follow the proposed pricing to stay within budget constraints of the program
  • Responsible for the LOB and maintenance of program item data
  • Support customer visits, proposals and future business.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of theories and practices in a constantly evolving environment
  • Management responsibilities for multiple teams doing diverse activities
  • Hold a strategic vision and analysis, and the ability to create innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment
  • Promotes a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting various phases of the program efforts

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Equal level of comfort driving analyses or receiving direction, leading or contributing as appropriate, driving conversations or supporting as necessary
  • Demonstrated Verbal and Written Communications Skills
  • Strong Presentation Skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 5 Years or more of Aerospace experience
  • Master's Degree, PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Familiarity or ability to lean manufacturing systems
  • EVMS experience
  • DoD/DoW Secret Clearence

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
