Position Description Overview

This role is part of the Pricing and Portfolio Management team and will be responsible for supporting the KeyBank Merchant Services Pricing team including customer pricing and analytical projects and processes to ensure optimal pricing. The successful candidate will have the mental agility to seamlessly move between individual analytical activities. Candidates should be comfortable navigating, partnering, and communicating internally and managing and reporting out regarding progress.

 

The analyst will assist and support Key Merchant Services: Pricing and data analytic needs. The analyst will support the development of processes, tools, reporting and analytical insight to improve pricing. It is expected for the analyst to have frequent contact with internal customers. Performs duties under limited supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures within Payments and Merchant Services analytics. The analyst will report to the Head of KeyBank Merchant Services Pricing and Billing integrity. The Pricing Team supports market pricing for products, deal pricing, and segment pricing.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct pricing implementation across the portfolio
  • Develop pricing analysis for existing and potential new clients
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to conduct reviews of product and customer pricing
  • Advise on new product pricing based on customer, competitive and internal factors
  • Build business cases and determine financial impact of pricing actions in support of Deal and Product teams
  • Interact with Servicing team to complete pricing corrections, exception requests for front and back book
  • Extract insights and develop complex analysis and tools
  • Analyze, monitor, and improve assigned business processes and/or systems
  • Develop and provide documentation for users and training purposes

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or 4+ years of relevant Merchant Services experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail is critical
  • Direct experience implementing  merchant and portfolio pricing strategies and models, 2 years preferred
  • Demonstrated ability analyzing interchange and other fees to evaluate merchant profitability
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Experience addressing ambiguous problems with a detailed approach is imperative
  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal and external teams to drive project completion
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial spreadsheets
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with interchange or payments is advantageous
  • SQL knowledge highly desired
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in PowerPivot, Tableau, Python
  • Experience in business, financial, payments, or other similar analysis preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $68,000 to $75,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
