What you will do
- Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing, you will design and implement the strategy and daily operations of this forum, turning it into a vibrant, inclusive space that accelerates community growth and work with our open source user base of security engineers, DevOps practitioners and researchers from onboarding to power user—by reducing friction, developing knowledge-base.
- You will define and track community health metrics (e.g., MAU, NPS, response times, churn), set quarterly OKRs, and ensure engagement. Establish standards, and improving content discoverability through tagging.
- You will foster a welcoming and respectful environment by enforcing the code of conduct, responding to complex posts or escalating to SMEs, and maintaining Discourse plug-ins and integrations.
- You will grow content and engagement programs such as tutorials, AMAs, release notes, security advisories, and quarterly CTFs/webcasts in partnership with the research team.
- You will build community advocacy through MVP/ambassador programs, recognition efforts, and weekly "Top Threads" recaps for newsletters and social media, while channeling feedback to influence product and documentation roadmaps.
What you will bring with you
- 3+ years managing technical or open-source communities.
- Familiarity with at least one security domain (cloud, container, or incident response) and the ability to understand code snippets and Falco rules.
- Experience with Linux and cloud native technologies, especially Kubernetes and its ecosystem
- Comfortable building dashboards from APIs or CSV exports.
- Familiarity with DevRel/GitHub Actions workflows.
What we look for
- Experience with open source and promoting inclusive, collaborative communities, identifying opportunities for engagement.
- Comfortable speaking publicly and working with users and developers both online and in person. Track record moderating forums or chat platforms (Discourse, Stack Overflow, Discord).
- Event-planning experience (online and in-person).
- Prior hands-on experience with open-source security tools (e.g., Falco, Wireshark, Stratoshark, SysdigOSS).

The U.S. annual compensation range for this full-time position is between $128,000 to $145,000 USD/year. Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range based on a variety of factors, including your work location, job-related experience and education.
