The Senior Systems Engineer manages systems engineering support for tactical communications, leading design, integration, testing, and stakeholder requirements interpretation.

Location: APG, MD (Remote)
The Senior Systems Engineer provides end-to-end systems engineering support for complex DoW tactical communications systems, with emphasis on integrated network, RF, and SATCOM architectures. This role leads requirements development, system integration, and technical oversight across the system lifecycle to ensure operational effectiveness, interoperability, and mission readiness:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across the lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, test, fielding, sustainment)
- Translate Operational Needs Statements (ONS), Capability Production Documents (CPD), and stakeholder requirements into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain system architectures aligned to Army tactical network baselines (e.g., WIN-T, T2C2, NGC2 evolution)
- Ensure integration of RF, SATCOM, and IP-based transport systems into unified architectures
- Support engineering working groups, IPTs, and technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Conduct interoperability assessments across joint, coalition, and commercial interfaces
- Provide technical oversight of lab integration, field testing, and technology insertion efforts
- Develop technical documentation (CONOPS, architecture diagrams, interface control documents, test plans/reports)
- Support system-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational assessments
- Interface with Government stakeholders, PMs, and industry partners
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 8–12+ years of relevant experience
- Deep understanding of DoW systems engineering processes and lifecycle frameworks
- Experience with Army Tactical Networks (WIN-T or successor systems)
- Familiarity with SATCOM architectures (TDMA/FDMA), RF systems, and waveform integration
- Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts and protocols
- Experience with DoDAF, architecture development, and system documentation
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance (or higher)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Army - PEO C3T / C5ISR / DEVCOM programs
- INCOSE certification (ASEP/CSEP/ESEP)
- Familiarity with ATO/Authority to Operate processes
- Experience with modeling/simulation tools
Travel
- Up to 20–30% (fielding, exercises, integration events)
