Job Description SummaryThe APD Digital Systems Staff Engineer for Digital Engine and Assembly will collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure the proper utilization of the digital engine to achieve program objectives. This role requires a strong background in classical systems engineering, digital tools, and data analytics. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with multiple external customers and stakeholders to ensure coordination and execution of program efforts.
This role resides within the APD Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection, a systems organization responsible for the development, integration and deployment of the DEE for a new military CAT1 NPI program. It consists of an integrated set of digital tools, processes, methodologies, databases and connections that will enable the development and qualification of the engine concept.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the DEE serves as the single source of truth for digital engine data, driving accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in Digital Part List (DPL) management. Managing the digital engine in the DEE is crucial to enable efficient engine configuration change management and unlock capabilities for model-based manufacturing and assembly. The digital engine will be used to support the process for digital qualification of the engine and the development of a Digital Twin (DTw) for use in life cycle management.
