NGP3 Digital Systems Staff Engineer – Digital Engine and Assembly
This role resides within the APD Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection, a systems organization responsible for the development, integration and deployment of the DEE for a new military CAT1 NPI program. The DEE is a collaborative network which allows permission-based access to program information through a common data repository for all program level information. It consists of an integrated set of digital tools, processes, methodologies, databases and connections that will enable the development and qualification of the engine concept.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the DEE serves as the single source of truth for digital engine data, driving accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in Digital Part List (DPL) management. Managing the digital engine in the DEE is crucial to enable efficient engine configuration change management and unlock capabilities for model-based manufacturing and assembly. The digital engine will be used to support the process for digital qualification of the engine and the development of a Digital Twin (DTw) for use in life cycle management.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Develop a comprehensive digital assembly strategy in line with the goals and requirements of the program including Model-Based Assembly (MBA)
In conjunction with our airframe partners, develop the definition for a digital twin and implement across the DEE.
Coordinate with system focals and design teams to ensure MEBULs are accurate across multiple engine builds and are linked to digital twins within the DEE
Coordinate with the Engine Model Owner and PDE team to develop and execute a strategy for digital engine definition
Coordinate with system focals and PDE team to ensure that the digital engines are accurate across multiple engine builds and are linked to digital twins within the DEE
Coordinate with Development Assembly to connect assembly data to the DEE
Develop and execute a strategy for DEE data management ensuring customer requirements and IP protection goals are met.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in digital engineering and data analytics and continuously improve existing tools and processes to enhance the effectiveness of the DEE.
Implement digital MRB process for program hardware
Qualification/Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering position.

- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
Due to security requirements, this position must be able to work a full-time in the office schedule
Desired Skills:
Active DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher
Active “Advanced program” access
Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers, coupled with the demonstrated ability to influence teams effectively.
Experience with MES software such as Solumina
Experience utilizing digital tools such as Jira, Confluence and Cameo
Strong experience with MBSE and “classical systems engineering” functions
Experience with GE Aerospace Digital tools and processes
Experience working with DoD customer and processes
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
