About Highrise AI

Highrise AI is a GPU-native infrastructure platform built for modern AI workloads. Designed for developers and enterprises operating in performance-critical and security-sensitive environments, Highrise delivers scalable GPU compute across dedicated clusters, managed cloud, and confidential environments.

Highrise combines bare-metal performance with full-stack orchestration, API-driven access, and hardware-enforced isolation to support training, fine-tuning, and production-scale deployment of AI models. From reserved GPU capacity to enterprise-grade confidential compute, Highrise provides flexible infrastructure models tailored to the needs of builders operating at scale.

Beyond infrastructure, Highrise integrates disciplined operations, advanced automation, and on-site engineering expertise to sustain high uptime and predictable performance across deployments. These capabilities extend beyond Highrise-owned fleets: through managed services, Highrise also operates third-party GPU hardware on behalf of customers and partners, applying the same operational standards to infrastructure it does not own.

Highrise is a subsidiary of Hut 8 Corp., an energy infrastructure platform. Hut 8 integrates power, digital infrastructure, and compute at scale. Highrise serves as the compute and operations layer—designing, deploying, and operating next-generation GPU clusters from commissioning through production.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for Network Engineers to expand and evolve our AI Infrastructure Service Operations team.  In this role, you will help deliver the highest standard of performance and reliability in network infrastructure supporting HPC AI/ML workloads, serving as an escalation point for our frontline NOC. The successful candidate combines expertise in switch fabric, storage network and WAN technologies, with strong operational discipline, demonstrated automation capability, and excellent customer-facing skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Performance and Reliability

  • Support frontline NOC during work hours, and as part of a shared off-hours on-call rotation.
  • Provide a low-latency response to resolve network faults in production infrastructure.
  • Lead incident management and drive prevention actions for network-related service impacts.
  • Work with our NOC and SRE teams to define and deliver continuous improvement to our network observability and impact mitigation tooling
  • Work with our Development teams to drive efficiency through task automation

Documentation, Enablement, and Collaboration

  • Create and maintain clear documentation, standards, and runbooks for production network infrastructure.
  • Drive automation efforts to reduce toil and extend observability in network infrastructure.
  • Work directly with customers to understand how best to support their use cases, driving reliability and performance.
  • Bring the voice of the customer to product and platform teams to ensure we deliver the services and features they need.

ABOUT YOU

Education and Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience with managing network infrastructure at scale in 24x7 environments.
  • 2+ years experience in modern private cloud stack environments.
  • Solid understanding of network technologies including VLANs, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, NSX or similar SDN technologies, routing, switching, and load balancing.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages for automation, and familiarity with basic database concepts.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure as code tools is a strong asset.

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail.
  • Effective at prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a demonstrated willingness to help internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with a bias toward ownership and outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player who operates effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; proactively automates and eliminates operational toil.

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time, engineering role supporting large-scale AI compute infrastructure across multiple sites. Travel to data centers for cluster commissioning, acceptance, and complex troubleshooting will be required. Flexibility to assist with critical incidents or maintenance activities outside regular business hours is expected. This role is hybrid or remote depending on location. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WHAT MAKES HIGHRISE A GREAT PLACE TO WORK
