This role will be remote within the Continental United States with some travel.

Discovery Land Company is seeking a full-time, year-round Corporate Network Architect (Focus on Cisco Meraki to join the Information Technology Department.

Job Summary:

The Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's data communication networks. This role involves developing comprehensive network architecture plans, overseeing the installation and configuration of network devices, ensuring network security, and performing regular maintenance and upgrades. The Network Architect will work closely with the Senior Director of IT Systems & Applications, Local IT Managers & Directors, and other stakeholders to align network systems with business goals and ensure efficient and secure data communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Meraki devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points and cameras.

  • Configure & troubleshoot AV networks, QSC equipment and Dante knowledge a plus.

  • Lead to perform network/Wi-Fi installations, network diagnostics, monitoring, and using analysis tools (e.g., Ekahau, Wireshark and other network tools)

  • Develop comprehensive network architecture plans that meet the organization's needs, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets.

  • Design data communication networks, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.

  • Create and work with Discovery clubs on detailed network diagrams, port maps, and configurations standards.

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware.

  • Manage the implementation process, ensuring schedules and budgets are adhered to.

  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolutions to maintain network availability.

  • Implement upgrades to hardware and software as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Ensure the security of the network by implementing and managing information and network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs to network equipment, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Stay up to date on advancements in network technologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Research and evaluate new network technologies and tools, recommending improvements to enhance network performance and security.

  • Develop and implement network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Work closely with IT specialists, management staff, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and develop network systems that meet those goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT field of study or equivalent experience/industry certifications is Required.

  • Must have atleast 1 networking certificate.

  • IT Real Estate industry preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

  • CompTIA Network+ Required.

  • CCNA a plus.

  • CCNP a plus.

  • Meraki Certified a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • At least 7 - 10 years of experience in IT with min 2 years of experience managing, designing and implementing at least some of the following networking vendors: HP, FortiGate, Aruba, Ruckus Networks, and Cisco Meraki.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without day-to-day supervision.

  • Proficient with problem-solving in complex and fragmented networking environment.

  • Must be able to respond to networking emergencies when they arise outside of normal working hours.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-changing, and high-volume work environment, operating with a high level of organization.

  • Demonstrates technical and/or professional proficiency in a network/wi-fi engineering position proactively adjusting for difficulties and completing objectives efficiently.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technically and interpersonally in the English language. Exhibits openness to receiving and responding to constructive feedback.

  • Clearly communicates timelines and expectations to senior management.

  • Proven ability to understand and apply company resources in accordance with company policy, standards, and best practices.

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to operate with a high sense of urgency, professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and ethics.

  • Demonstrated intermediate level PC skills with the ability to effectively operate within a Windows and Mac Operating System and Windows based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Wi-Fi survey tools etc.

  • This is a remote position, but some travel may be required, up to 10%

  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.

The compensation for this position is: $130,000-$140,000 + Bonus.
