OverviewThe Network and Capacity Planner is responsible for monitoring network utilization and key metrics for space, power, and port utilization, incorporating forecasts and historical activity to project exhaust points. Assemble plans to resolve the situation before reaching exhaust. Network and site expansion plans and projects will be handed off to the Project Management team and the Network Delivery team for implementation.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage capacity for network utilization, space, power/PDUs, and switch ports
- Build and enhance reporting in support of capacity management
- Assist the Sr. Planner in building and maintaining Capacity Management Plans for all products and services related to the Financial Markets division.
- Manage the inventory of datacenter hardware (switches, PDUs, etc.) including the min-max levels in the warehouse (trending consumption). Initiate the coordination of material procurement, based on prioritized need.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and documentation skills
Knowledge of traffic engineering principles and equipment capacity concepts
Knowledge of telecommunications network design principles and concepts
Knowledge of IP network design principles and concepts
2-3 years experience in datacenter design, power delivery systems, and capacity management principles and concepts
Ability to analyze traffic demand and patterns, forecast exhaust, and recommend augments to capacity
Ability to conceptualize and build reports and document requirements for new reports or enhancements
Ability to work with Sales to turn trends and pipeline into a forecast for capacity management
Familiarity with Arista, Cisco, and Juniper a plus
Willingness to learn in a fast-paced and growing environment
For this role, we anticipate paying $65,000K - $83,000K annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. TNS offers a competitive benefit package including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.

Education and Certifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university or industry-related institute
Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, and experience
Experience in telecommunications or IP network planning and capacity management preferred, but some familiarity or training/educational background is necessary.
