A National Account Manager with Verus Mortgage Capital plays a pivotal role in both nurturing existing client relationships and actively generating new business opportunities. Your responsibilities extend beyond maintaining accounts to include identifying and pursuing prospective clients in the wholesale market.
You will proactively seek out new business partnerships, engage with potential clients, and present the benefits of our non-Agency mortgage products. This involves a strategic approach to market analysis, staying abreast of industry trends, and understanding the unique needs of potential clients.
Collaboration with the sales and marketing teams is crucial as you contribute insights gained from client interactions to refine strategies for attracting new business. Your ability to articulate the value proposition of our mortgage products and showcase the company's strengths will be key in expanding our market presence.
In essence, as an account manager, you are not only a steward of existing relationships but also a driver of growth, actively contributing to the acquisition of new clients and the overall success of our mortgage company in the non-Agency wholesale sector.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Client Relationship Management:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing non-Agency wholesale clients.
- Be a point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and support.
New Business Generation:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the client base in the non-Agency wholesale market.
- Proactively engage with potential clients, presenting the benefits of our mortgage products.
Transaction Facilitation:
- Manage the end-to-end loan application process, collaborating with brokers and internal teams.
- Ensure smooth and efficient transactions, resolving any issues that may arise during the loan process.
Compliance and Industry Knowledge:
- Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and changes in the non-Agency mortgage space.
- Ensure adherence to industry compliance standards.
- Maintain state licensing approvals, where needed.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Effectively communicate with internal teams, including underwriters and loan processors, to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to contribute insights for refining strategies.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the non-Agency wholesale sector.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of strategies for attracting new business.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the loan process, ensuring client satisfaction.
Business Growth Contribution:
- Actively contribute to the overall success of the company by driving client satisfaction and maximizing business opportunities.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
- Relevant experience in mortgage sales, particularly in Non-Agency lending, is crucial.
- Staying updated on market trends and building relationships within the industry are valuable assets for this role
- Average monthly funded Non-Agency volume of $2m
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive in a production-driven environment
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry regulations
- A proven track record in sales is required.
