The Role
GM Motorsports Competition Engineering is seeking a Motorsports Race Performance Lead Engineer to join our Cadillac LMDh program. This role will coordinate the at-race performance support GM provides to the race teams - setting priorities and ensuring proper execution. This role will also represent GM in sanctioning body discussions around on track performance. Travel to the races and tests on a regular basis will be required.

What You'll Do
- Work with the GM, key partner, and race team engineers that support the Cadillac LMDh program to develop and execute the performance support plan for each race.
- Work with the Lead Development Engineer to transition new and future development of the car into racing.
- Coordinate the post-race review of performance with key stakeholders and communicate areas of weakness or potential to the Lead Development Engineer.
- Ensure the post-race correlation of simulation models.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science of Engineering
- Professional Race Engineer experience in a BOP series
- Participation in professional racing for 5-10+ years
- Multi body vehicle model development
- Familiarity with Race Watch, HH Timing, Canopy
- Lap Time Simulation experience
- Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or Aerodynamics (both preferred)
- Hardware In the Loop Experience
- Driving Simulator Experience
- Ability to travel to about 10 domestic and international races per year
- This job may be eligible for relocation benefits
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with racing in the IMSA GTP or WEC Hypercar classes
