Job Description SummaryThe Module Chief Engineer Leader is responsible for the people leadership, organizational effectiveness, and operating rigor of the Module Chief Engineer Team. This role leads a team of Module Chief Engineers and ensures they are aligned, developed, and supported to provide strong technical leadership across module-level design, execution, integration, and lifecycle performance.
This leader serves as a key member of the Chief Engineers Office leadership team and partners closely with Product Chief Engineers, Science Chief Engineers, engineering functional leaders, program leaders, and business stakeholders to strengthen module-level ownership and ensure alignment with product, science, and business priorities. For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $166,000.00 and $276,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Module Chief Engineers.
- Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning, and hiring.
- Establish clear goals, role clarity, and effective operating rhythms for the team.
- Build consistency in module-level technical leadership, decision-making, and issue resolution.
- Partner with Product and Science Chief Engineers to ensure alignment across technical leadership roles.
- Identify organizational, capability, and resource gaps and work with leadership to address them.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and resolution of complex technical and organizational issues.
- Lead continuous improvement and organizational change efforts within the Chief Engineers Office.
- Develop operating rhythm between Module Chief Engineers and Product Chief Engineers to ensure Chief Engineers are technical leads on team’s hardest challenges
- Develop consistent mindset across Module Chief Engineers that balances NPI/NTI with fleet support
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience..
- Significant experience in engineering, product development, module ownership, or technical leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience as a Module Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer, or senior technical leader.
- Experience in complex, highly engineered, or regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading senior technical professionals in a matrixed organization.
- Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional leadership skills.
