Maxar Intelligence is currently seeking a Mission Planner to join our Mission Operations team in Longmont, CO.
Your Project: The Mission Planner monitors near-term tactical satellite collection activities in support of existing and future requirements for Maxar's customers and is also responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the Maxar factory flow from order entry through delivery, for a variety of customers. Using an assortment of technical systems, business intelligence, weather and climate data, and in collaboration with internal and external customers this team is responsible for delivering against all service level agreements, contracts and product offerings. Independent judgment and the ability to dynamically balance competing resources are critical to accomplishing daily tasks.
What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
  • Monitor and execute tactical near-term collection strategies, supporting project and service level agreements
  • Monitor data and factory flows from planning, product generation into layout and delivery, and perform initial QC of images as they enter the factory flow
  • Perform necessary ground troubleshooting following an established set of procedures and work with MOC personnel during anomaly resolution
  • Communicate effectively with leads, engineers and other stakeholders when troubleshooting beyond the scope of existing procedures
  • Escalate operational issues as needed with team management and technical support teams

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, geography, remote sensing, GIS, or related field. Four additional years of experience in related field may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in project and/or task management
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
  • Must be willing and able to perform 24/7 rotational shift work

  • 1+ year of experience with Unix/Linux
  • 1+ year of experience scripting and database knowledge
  • Experience with GIS technology
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work based upon high-level requirements
  • Desire to lead continuous improvement initiatives

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $59,000.00 - $99,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
