Job Description:

Flexential Professional Services (FPS) is a consulting division providing infrastructure and cybersecurity transformation services. We help mid- to enterprise-sized organizations mature and improve their IT operations and cyber security posture through assessment, architecture, and design/build engagements.
The Professional Services Cloud Migration practice facilitates the migration of customer environments into the Flexential Cloud as well as other migrations and infrastructure transformation activities. Team members coordinate, plan, test, and execute the transformation and migration of customers into Flexential Cloud from a variety of source environments including on-premises, colocation, and other cloud providers. A successful candidate has extensive knowledge with infrastructure operations and a broad knowledge of networks, hypervisors, storage, operating systems, and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and assist the discovery and migration of customer infrastructure and data from on-premises, colocation, and other cloud source environments into Flexential Cloud.
  • Demonstrate ownership of technical project delivery to successfully migrate systems with minimal disruption.
  • Perform virtual to virtual, physical to virtual, data (SQL & AD), and greenfield host-rebuild migrations.
  • Document migration plans and procedures in formal Methods of Procedures and change plans.
  • Gather and analyze customer requirements, evaluate options, and select and implement migration methodologies that best suit the customer’s needs.
  • Provide discovery information to Architects in design and transformation planning of complex environments.
  • Create and document environment transformation, migration testing, and cutover method of procedures.
  • Work with internal Flexential teams to deploy and implement large or complex customer environments.
  • Design and coordinate network connectivity between source and target environments to facilitate migration based on source environment factors such as size, rate of change, and data source types.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, network, hypervisor, and operating system issues during migration and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Work alongside project managers to coordinate and communicate with internal, customer, and vendor resources to designate roles and responsibilities, and facilitate escalations of issues as appropriate.
  • Assist other Flexential network, operating system, and cloud engineers in troubleshooting migration and customer environment issues.
  • Learn and share new skills through independent research, formal training, and industry events.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with network administration including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • 4+ years of experience with infrastructure operations and administration of Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, and storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, CMMC, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Interest in learning new skills and keeping pace with changing technologies.
  • Ability to problem solve and work with others to find the best solution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS education preferred
  • Professional and expert level technical certifications are considered a plus
  • Technical certifications such as CISSP, MCITP, RHCT, etc. are considered a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
  • Travel 10% of the time

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $71,600 - $93,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
