Role: Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/Business Central Solution Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: (Long term/ Contract to Hire)
Typical Responsibilities Include:
· Design the overall ERP solution for a company and make sure Business Central supports its finance, operations, sales, inventory, purchasing, and reporting processes.
· Meeting with business teams to understand requirements.
· Designing how Business Central should be configured.
· Deciding which requirements can use standard functionality and which need customization.
· Planning integrations with systems such as payroll, CRM, banking, e-commerce, Power BI, or third-party applications.
· Guiding developers and functional consultants.
· Reviewing extensions written in AL, Microsoft’s Business Central development language.
· Planning data migration from older ERP or accounting systems.
· Managing security roles, permissions, workflows, environments, and upgrades.
· Troubleshooting complex functional and technical issues.
· Ensuring the solution is scalable and does not rely on unnecessary customizations.
The role is normally a mix of functional and technical expertise. A Business Central Architect should understand:
· General ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, and Fixed Assets
· Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, Warehousing, Manufacturing, or Service Management
· Business Central configuration and extensions
· AL development concepts
· APIs, web services, and system integrations
· Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and sometimes Power Apps
· Azure and Microsoft 365 integrations
· Data migration, testing, deployment, and upgrade strategy
