About the role
Our product is an industrial-scale software-as-a-service observability platform, and you will be leading the design and implementation of the control plane UI / UX, consisting of large scale budget management tooling and complex usage reporting needs. You will partner closely with product, design, and the rest of our engineering team to build intuitive interfaces empowering customers to control costs across their organization, dealing with data volumes spanning hundreds of millions of telemetry events per second.
As a full-stack engineer with a front-end focus, you will:
Lead development of user experiences to enable central observability teams to understand and manage their observability budgets
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to turn complex data into actionable, easy-to-understand visualizations and workflows.
Think beyond implementation—challenge assumptions, refine designs based on user feedback, and take ownership of delivering polished, effective user experiences.
Work with engineers across the organization to evolve the architecture powering our UIs and APIs (TypeScript, React, GraphQL).
Share accountability with UI-focused engineers across the company to build and maintain automated tests, tooling, and deployment infrastructure that improve efficiency.
Mentor your colleagues in engineering reliable, performant, high-quality user experiences through direct mentorship, program development, and engineering infrastructure improvements.
What you will achieve
In the first 3 months, you will build a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s control plane product and learn about the domain, our customer’s needs, the underlying technology and how we deliver changes. You will start to contribute changes to our product in a manner that enables you to learn quickly. You will build relationships by working closely with your team.
After 3 months, you will independently own products on our roadmap from scoping all the way to delivery to production. You will partner with product, design and other engineers, as need be to deliver these projects. You will start to build relationships across teams.
You have
The ability to own projects from inception to delivery either independently or as a technical leader of a small team, all while collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers.
Experience using observability tools and/or working with large-scale distributed systems so that you come to Chronosphere with the ability to empathize with our customers and understand their observability challenges.
Curiosity and motivation to learn deep, complex domains.
A habit of seeking feedback to improve your work and the ability to ask for help when you need it.
A flexible, collaborative working style. As a small team in a rapidly evolving space, we value individuals who contribute to a positive and supportive environment.
Fluency in building products with TypeScript and React.
