The role designs and implements compliant contracting solutions, manages resources, resolves issues, and leads teams in Medical Evidence Generation operations.
- JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Evidence Generation Operations Contracting Solutions Lead is responsible for designing, implementing and managing compliant contracting solutions to achieve contract executional excellence within the Medical Evidence Generation function in support of Medical Evidence Generation. These solutions will enhance the executional impact, including resourcing, of the remit for Research Collaborations, Grants and Sponsored Studies and strategically plan for opportunities in the future. This role will be a single point of contact and accountability for the contracting process with Medical Evidence Generation Operations cross functional partners including Legal and be the leadership -level escalation pathway to manage issues to resolution.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement contracting solution strategies (e.g., contracting process workflows, contract lifecycle mgmt., template libraries and playbooks) in partnership with other stakeholders, such as Legal, ensuring compliant delivery of executional excellence
- Create and manage a resourcing algorithm for contracting requirements to efficiently deploy resources
- Develop risk / benefit scenarios to gain alignment with key stakeholders in the organization to determine appropriate scope of responsibilities for contracting including negotiation playbooks and escalation of certain contract negotiation issues to Legal
- Resolve contracting impacts to quality or timelines by exercising independent judgment and making timely decisions, through risk analysis, in areas of contracting.
- Provide timely solutions related to contract negotiation issues escalated
- Serve as the contracting SME on various groups projects to include business acquisitions and other initiatives.
- Onboard, train and manage the workload of contracting resources; responsible for relationship management with CROs and FSP performing site contracting activities.
- QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- 8+ years of experience with a 4-year degree (BA/BS or equivalent)
- Expert in one or more areas of clinical site contracting.
- Knowledge of clinical development process.
- Ability to oversee third-party vendor deliverables to agreed quality and timelines.
- Experience with information management systems and partnership with Digital organizations to develop a technology solution.
- Experience leading cross functional teams.
- Experience in interaction with senior leaders within the organization.
- Experience with clinical study budgets and contracting negotiation principles, practices, processes, and activities.
- Balance of general business, compliance, finance, legal, and drug development experience.
- Clear communications and presentation skills.
- Ability to problem solve unique issues and prioritize.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Demonstrated success in working in a highly matrix-based organization.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a US Juris Doctorate or equivalent legal degree.
- Previous functional management experience.
- Medical Evidence Generation, Pfizer and Partner Legal Teams, Clinical site contracts & legal contacts, Research Collaboration, Grant Operations, Sponsored Study, CRO site contracting teams.

- Direct management of team resources commensurate with the level of activity.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600.00 to $261,000.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $141,000.00 to $235,000.00.
