Marketplace Development Representatives respond to inbound leads, qualify them, and facilitate smooth handoffs to Sales, ensuring a great prospect experience.
Who we are:
Field Nation brings companies and service professionals together through an integrated, easy-to-use platform. We support businesses looking to grow their service offerings while also empowering technicians to leverage their skills on their own terms. Our mission is to help the service delivery industry do great work, and we live that mission by doing great work for the companies and service professionals that depend on us.
Why is this role important to Field Nation?
The Marketplace Development Representative (MDR) is the first point of contact for prospects entering the Field Nation ecosystem. MDRs respond to inbound interest generated through marketing channels and programs. They qualify leads, triage demand, and either hand off to Sales or get prospective buyers on the right path toward success with the Field Nation platform, ensuring a clear and confident transition to the appropriate team based on their needs.
This role is essential to ensuring a seamless prospect experience and maximizing the conversion of hand-raisers into high-value customers. The MDR is part of the Revenue Marketing team and is critical for supporting pipeline conversion and buyer success through timely follow-up, qualification, and effective lead routing. This is an ideal role for someone looking to grow into sales, customer success, or demand generation.
What you'll get to do:
- Respond to inbound leads quickly via phone, email, and LinkedIn, using campaign/source context to personalize outreach and schedule intro meetings.
- Conduct intro meetings to pre-qualify leads, assess fit and urgency, and provide basic education on Field Nation’s marketplace model.
- Evaluate buyer needs to determine whether to route them to Sales or support them through a transactional path.
- Schedule and facilitate smooth handoffs to Sales by ensuring clear knowledge transfer and maintaining accurate, real-time CRM data.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to share lead insights, improve funnel performance, and align on qualification and handoff criteria.
You might be a good fit if you have:
- 1+ years of experience in sales, lead generation, or customer service, preferably in tech marketplaces or high-velocity environments
- Strong communication, active listening, and adaptability in fast-paced settings
- Proficient with CRM and sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo

- Individualized growth + development plans
- Strong values around work/life balance
- Community involvement opportunities
- Competitive benefits: medical, dental, vision, paid parental leave + 401K
