This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Arden Hills, MN and offers a hybrid work environment; in-office T/W/Th and virtual M/F. This role does NOT offer a fully remote option.

Job Summary

As a primary liaison between Central Marketing and Land O’Lakes’ business units, the Marketing Portfolio Manager (MPM) is immersed in the business, accountable for harnessing the strength of our brands and driving meaningful growth in collaboration with LOL’s Central Marketing Centers of Excellence (COE). This role is accountable for fostering business unit relationships and providing cross-functional collaboration to identify and uncover new growth opportunities. The MPM leverages data-driven insights to craft marketing strategies that help impact the businesses’ growth goals while embracing a culture of innovation by adopting new technologies and creative solutions that keep our brands at the forefront of the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners closely with business teams to develop a deep understanding of industry and market dynamics, business strategies, competition, brand landscape, customers, and consumers.

  • Leads the annual marketing budget planning process in collaboration with business stakeholders.

  • Leverages marketing insights and analytics to make fact-based decisions in partnership with Marketing Centers of Excellence (COE) teams.

  • Links marketing strategies to business outcomes by ensuring marketing initiatives deliver against key performance indicators.

  • Translates business strategies into briefs, which the Central Marketing Centers of Excellence (COEs) use to develop actionable brand and promotional plans.

  • Provides decision-making authority, working with and across teams, as well as other leaders in business unit and Central Marketing teams.

  • Encourages seamless cooperation, embedded business knowledge, and strategic alignment between business unit stakeholders, Central Marketing Centers of Excellence (COE), and other LOL departments and functions.

  • Ensures brand governance, growth, and safety processes are effectively employed.

  • Champions consumer- and customer-first thinking

Required Experience and Education

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in strategic marketing leadership in a Business Unit or Central Marketing organization

  • Strong strategic mindset with ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing strategies

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strongly prefer agricultural experience

  • Ability to influence teams where they have no direct authority

  • Proficiency in aligning brand initiatives with broader business goals and priorities

  • Strong marketing data proficiency and comprehension

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related fields

  • MBA degree (optional)

  • Marketing data analysis

  • Project status updates to BU

The salary range for this role is $123,920 - $185,880. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
