The Marketing Manager will lead a small team, oversee marketing execution and digital initiatives, and ensure alignment with company goals while optimizing marketing performance.
BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company on a mission to change how organizations manage safety, learning, and compliance. As we build a modern marketing function that combines data, creativity, and execution, we are looking for a Marketing Manager who wants to help shape how the market understands what we do.
About the role:
This is a new role that sits at the intersection of marketing strategy and execution.
You'll work closely with leadership to turn marketing strategy into real, measurable progress while guiding a small marketing team through campaigns, content, and digital program. But what we really need is someone who gets things done - this is a very hands-on role. We are specifically looking for someone who enjoys building campaigns, improving messaging, and working directly with the marketing systems that drive performance.
This is also a genuinely fast-paced role. BIS produces a large volume of marketing initiatives across campaigns, content, website development, and digital programs. The pace is often faster than what many organizations describe as “fast-paced,” and success in this role requires someone who is comfortable operating with that level of momentum while maintaining strong judgment and quality.
This is a remote position.
In this role, you'll be expected to:
- Lead and develop the marketing team - managing and mentoring a small but capable team, running regular 1-to-1's, providing clear direction and feedback, and maintaining alignment between marketing initiatives and company priorities
- Oversee marketing execution - work directly with the team to produce marketing materials including website content, landing pages, campaigns, and promotional assets; review and refine marketing copy to ensure alignment with company messaging and positioning
- Drive digital marketing initiatives - you will help oversee and contribute directly to website optimization, landing page development, SEO, AEO, Google Ads and digital advertising programs, marketing analytics and campaign performance tracking, and conversion optimization across digital channels
- Coordinate marketing systems and priorities - ensure marketing initiatives remain organized and intentional, helping prioritize projects based on impact, working with leadership to refine messaging and marketing direction, and coordinating work with internal teams and external marketing partners.
You might be the right fit if you:
- Have experience both leading people and building marketing systems
- Have roughly 5-7 years of marketing experience, with some experience coordinating or managing a small team
- Are comfortable operating at both the strategic and execution level, but are first and foremost a doer
- Have owned marketing campaigns or initiatives from start to finish, with tangible outcomes you can point to
- Possess strong digital marketing knowledge including SEO, paid media, and website optimization
- Have demonstrated strong judgment when evaluating messaging, copy, and campaign quality
- Are comfortable using marketing data and performance signals to guide decisions
- Use AI solutions to improve the speed and quality of your work
- Bring a mindset focused on continuous improvement
- The type of marketer who thinks of marketing as a system that can be continuously improved, not simply a collection of tasks
- Think critically about messaging and positioning, always asking whether copy and campaigns actually move the buyer forward
- Thrive in fast-paced environments where a high volume of marketing initiatives are moving simultaneously
- Are humble, eager to learn, and happy to ask questions and seek clarity where needed
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in B2B or SaaS environments, though operational marketing experience in a structured environment is the more important factor
- Experience with SEO strategy, content marketing, and digital campaign management
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CMS tools, and analytics dashboards
- A working understanding of how to measure and improve marketing-qualified lead generation
- Experience building or improving marketing production processes and workflows
- Exposure to safety, training, compliance, or other regulated industry verticals
Compensation and benefits:
- Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Life insurance and disability insurance
- Health spending account
- Flexible working hours
- On-the-job training and growth opportunities
About BIS:
BIS Safety Software has been headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta, since 2006. We build software that helps organizations manage safety training, learning, and compliance - and we’re growing!
A few things that make us different: we don’t use job titles internally - we value humility and contribution over hierarchy. We move fast, integrate new ideas quickly, and give people real ownership of their work. And through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), you have the opportunity to own a piece of the company you’re helping build.
How to apply:
When applying, please include a short note describing one marketing initiative you personally improved or optimized, and what the outcome was. We are interested in how candidates think about improving marketing performance, not just participating in campaigns.
Visit our Careers Page for more information.
We sincerely thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
