Overview 

 

Northwood Office seeks a proactive, collaborative and innovative Marketing & Events Manager to manage The Bowl and TD Amp's marketing efforts, as well as provide support for additional assets in Charlotte as needed. The ideal candidate is creative, communicative, forward-thinking, and exhibits exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills with a team-player mentality. The position will lead communication, social media, event and advertising efforts for the mixed-use asset while driving efforts for ongoing merchant support. The role will establish strong relationships with tenants, team members, contractors, vendors, agencies, media and community leaders. The Marketing & Events Manager reports to the SVP of Marketing & Communications at Northwood Office.


Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and evaluate retail marketing, communication, social media, event, activation and other engagement strategies to generate brand awareness and drive sales for The Bowl
  • Collaborate with internal marketing & communications team and agencies/freelancers on marketing campaign concepts
  • Ensure brand voice is consistent across all print, digital and new business outreach efforts
  • Create content and distribution for social media and marketing email campaigns, including copywriting, gathering images and coordinating graphic design
  • Manage websites for retail center(s) and TD Amp
  • Write and distribute press releases to national and regional trade and consumer publications; develop story ideas; draft talking points for media interviews; and serve as a media spokesperson
  • Develop and manage budget and allocate resources accordingly
  • Manage process for updating on-site collateral, directories, kiosk maps, leasing packets, etc.
  • Develop an event and activation calendar for each property
  • Plan, coordinate and execute large-scale property-specific events
  • Build relationships with local and national influencers, as well as community partners and city stakeholders
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities for the retail center(s), including building local relationships, brainstorming ideas and creating supplemental pitch materials
  • Monitor center sales and focus on helping to push tenants to reach their respective goals
  • Monitor and archive earned media coverage, monthly email reports, website analytics and social media metrics and circulate as needed
  • Ability to be on-site on evenings and weekends when executing events for retail center(s) and TD Amp
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualfications

  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills to work well with both internal and external customers
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and balance initiatives with internal and external stakeholders across multiple departments
  • Proven project management skills and a focus on completing initiatives on budget and deadline
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an openness to change as the firm evolves
  • Self-motivated, responsible and personable with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and high degree of integrity
  • Proactive and resourceful in pursuing new opportunities, concepts, etc.
  • Possess and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of social media fundamentals
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the development and execution of marketing, social/digital communications, events and public relations initiatives
  • Strong understanding of metrics and reporting (Google Analytics 4, SEO)
  • Proven track record of execution of successful events of varying types
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Understanding of existing retail offerings and demographics in the trade area and regional market
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic-thinking, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills
  • Skilled at diplomacy, including active listening and staying calm under pressure
  • Sponsorship experience preferred
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, hospitality, or related field
  • Three to five years in retail and/or related shopping center experience and/or entertainment venues
