Our Newest Opportunity: 

In this deadline sensitive position, the market specialist provides support to benefit consultants and works directly with the carriers to manage the RFP and proposal processes for small and middle market clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify upcoming renewals and evaluate client data to begin initial marketing plan, including new lines of coverage, that will fit into client strategy and budget for our Select clients
  • Obtain insurance product rate quotes, either on-line or through preparation and submission of proposals, from various insurance carriers at the request of benefits consultants
  • Assist consultants and account owners with procurement of carrier quotes, selection of plan solutions, initial negotiations and the underwriting process
  • Meet and exceed all time frames allotted for quoting and proposal generation activities
  • Build and maintain rapport with carrier contacts for follow up on administrative issues, including RFP status, underwriting requirements and participation guidelines
  • Work with market advisors to obtain on-line quotes needed for baseline rates or new product alternatives
  • Follow-up with internal departments to ensure timely receipt of required commission disclosures, transparency statements, census data and carrier ratings
  • Work with market advisor toward timely completion of regional workload and ensure all job responsibilities are completed accurately
  • Manage regional workload and work with other Market Specialists to assess workload/backlog and create weekly plan to ensure timeliness of quote and proposal requests across all regions;
  • Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
  • Update and maintain company databases
  • Various duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Familiar with database applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong lasting relationships
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

Experience:

  • Experience at carrier, general agency or brokerage in a benefits support role, a plus;
  • Knowledge of health and ancillary insurance products and benefit plan designs, a plus;

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $18 to $20 per hour 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs. You will receive reimbursement of job-related expenses per the company policy and may receive employee perks and discounts.
