THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Market Development Executive, National Guard / Homeland Defense who will report to the Vice President of North America Sales. The successful individual in this role will serve as Silvus Technologies’ senior market-shaping leader for the National Guard / Homeland Defense enterprise.
This person will be responsible for influencing capability requirements, building strategic relationships at the General Officer and SES levels, and orchestrating Silvus’ long-term growth strategy across National Guard modernization programs. This role focuses on shaping demand and cultivating enduring advocacy for Silvus technologies - enabling downstream capture and sales success by the Business Development and Account Sales teams.
This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location with a preference for close proximity to key National Guard commands.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Shaping and Strategic Engagement
Leverage an established senior-level network within the National Guard (e.g., state offices of the Adjunct General, National Guard Bureau, Air Guard Readiness Center, Western Hemisphere Command, operational units) to shape requirements and sponsor Silvus Technologies across modernization programs.
Drive early visibility for Silvus in emerging Program of Record and OTA opportunities.
Position Silvus within concepts such as JADC2, Unified Network, and Transformation in Contact, ensuring technical alignment with long-term capability roadmaps.
Strategic Coordination
Serve as the senior “market anchor” for the National Guard, coordinating a team-based pursuit model across Business Development, DoD Account Sales, and OEM / Prime Sales.
Align internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Product, Capture, Executive Leadership) to deliver unified messaging and pursuit strategy for priority programs.
Partner with Motorola Solutions and MSI Government Affairs to synchronize advocacy and policy outreach.
Intelligence and Influence
Provide Silvus leadership with continuous market insight—capturing trends in National Guard network modernization, tactical communications, and EW/spectrum management.
Identify and cultivate emerging opportunities for long-term revenue growth.
Represent Silvus at senior National Guard, DoD, and industry forums to promote thought leadership and build institutional advocacy for Silvus’ MN-MIMO waveform and Spectrum Dominance technology.
Accountability and Impact
Develop and execute the National Guard Market Development Plan, defining shaping objectives, key relationships, and pursuit milestones in coordination with Sales/BD stakeholders.
Contribute to Silvus’ pipeline growth by ensuring multi-year program opportunities are identified and matured toward Business Development hand-off.
Travel Requirements - up to 50% as needed, to maintain strong customer engagement and relationships.
Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED.
A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
Extensive prior U.S. Army service (e.g., former General Officer) OR extensive experience as a senior civilian (GS-15/SES equivalent) or defense industry executive.
A pre-existing, established, and verifiable network of contacts at senior levels within the National Guard (TAG, NGB, Program Offices, etc.).
Deep branch-domain knowledge of U.S. Army tactical network mission, structure, and procurement processes.
Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong strategic planning and "big picture" thinking.
Ability to operate with a high-level of autonomy and build trust as a credible advisor.
Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Track record of successfully shaping requirements for major DoD programs.
Experience with C5ISR, tactical communications, unmanned systems, or spectrum/EW applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment.
Trade shows.
Outdoor environment for demonstrations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
COMPENSATION: $200k - $240k / annual base salary plus opportunity for milestone incentives Potential OTE: $240k - 280k / annually
This pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
