Overview

Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) Technology within Investment Bank Technology is responsible for managing end to end technology related to Foreign Exchange (FX), Emerging markets, Rates, Credit and Listed Derivatives businesses. Within it, the Core Trading Technologies (CTT) team is responsible for management of Deutsche Bank’s premier Ultra Low Latency trading platform spanning 20 datacenters in 4 regions and providing algorithmic execution, market data and post-trade services to over a dozen critical business applications in Equity Derivatives, FX, Rates, Credit and Commodities. The Core Trading Technologies team is seeking an experienced Market connectivity engineer to lead and deliver a trading infrastructure book of work. This Engineer will work with Chief Information Officer (CIO) team, Business teams to drive the priorities and projects to deliver on mandatory exchange upgrade connectivity requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Analysis/design and management of changes and requests to meet venue Mandatory changes without impact to services

  • Analysis and request management for day-to-day application connectivity requirements to external trading venues

  • Cost savings initiatives through re-design and delivery of current solutions

  • Client connectivity

  • Work with application teams to adopt Google Cloud and Hybrid Cloud platforms

Skills You’ll Need

  • Good UNIX/Linux skills including hands-on experience with UNIX shell (bash/ksh/jsh)

  • Networking knowledge: Connectivity standards, OSI, TCP/IP administration (routing, firewalls, etc), Proxies, Load balancers

  • Routing protocols: Understanding of BGP

  • Multicast: In depth knowledge

  • Knowledge of European and US exchanges and workings

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Understanding of Financial Exchange protocols

  • Understanding of Financial exchange structure (memberships, markets, segments etc.)

  • Experience with packet capture technology such as Corvil and network analytics a plus

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle

  • Excellent communication skills

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
