Marine Concepts is looking for a versatile, high-energy operator to serve as the CEO’s strategic right hand; someone who can drive M&A, step into operational leadership of a business unit, and tackle whatever hard problem matters most on any given day. This is a role for a builder, not a bystander.

About Marine Concepts

Marine Concepts is the market leader in custom boat cover track systems: a patented, premium product trusted by thousands of customers across 100+ boat brands. Based near the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri with a growing presence in Charlotte, NC, the company designs, manufactures, and installs precision-fit boat protection systems. We’re backed by Kanbrick, a long-term-oriented investment firm, and we’re building a scaled marine protection platform through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

This is a small, fast-growing company with multiple business units, an active M&A pipeline, and a CEO who moves quickly. You’ll have exposure to every facet of the business from day one.

The Role

This is a broad, dynamic “versatile generalist” role; part Chief of Staff, part Head of Corporate Development, part GM-in-training. You’ll work directly with the CEO on the company’s most important priorities, and those priorities will shift as the business evolves. One week you might be leading diligence on an acquisition target; the next, you’re diagnosing a commercial problem in one of our business units; the next, you’re rebuilding internal reporting or standing up a new operating cadence.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive M&A execution — source targets, lead diligence, build financial models, and manage post-acquisition integration
  • Step into hands-on operational leadership of a business unit or growth initiative — own the day-to-day, diagnose problems, and drive results
  • Drive growth – own commercial initiatives, identifying growth levers, and driving topline performance across business units
  • Strengthen back-office operations — identify the biggest gaps in financial reporting, budgeting, or internal processes and fix them (or find the right people to fix them)
  • Serve as the CEO’s force multiplier — own the operating cadence, drive cross-functional priorities, and take hard problems off the CEO’s plate
  • Build with AI — bring an AI-native approach to problem-solving and help the organization adopt tools that create real leverage

The trajectory: Within 12–18 months, the right person will be positioned to step into a full GM role over a business unit, lead an acquired company, or grow into a senior operational leadership position within the Marine Concepts platform.

Requirements

We’re less interested in a specific background and more interested in a specific type of person. You’re a generalist who gets things done. You’re analytical but not paralyzed by analysis. You’re strategic but you also roll up your sleeves. You move fast, you learn fast, and you don’t wait to be told what to do.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have consistently delivered results in a high-performance environment: consulting, banking, corporate strategy, a leadership development program, a high-growth startup, or as a founder.
  • Are a sharp, structured thinker who can break down messy problems and drive to action.
  • Are comfortable with financial modeling, P&L analysis, and using data to make decisions.
  • Have a bias to action and an ownership mentality: you don’t wait for the playbook, you write it.
  • Thrive in ambiguity and lean teams where your role evolves based on what the business needs.
  • Are AI-native: you default to AI tools for research, analysis, and problem-solving, and you can point to specific examples of using AI to create real business impact.
  • Are kind, humble, and team-first, but with the conviction and directness to push hard for results.
  • Are excited about working with small, real businesses, not looking for big-company infrastructure or a narrow lane.

An MBA is welcome but not required. What matters is your ability to think critically, move quickly, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
