Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as Solar Panel and Array Process Manufacturing Engineer on our Manufacturing Process Engineering team based in Sylmar, CA.
You will have the opportunity to work on projects covering the entire range of Spectrolab's products from large and small solar cell assemblies, panels and arrays for a variety of space applications using the world's highest efficiency solar cells to airborne searchlight gimbal systems and ground-based high-intensity illuminated test systems. You will contribute to development programs and help shape our next-generation improvements in product, process, and tooling design.

- Develop and implement production processes.
- Generate and maintain process documentation to ensure correct and consistent process application in production.
- Analyze and evaluate design/build concepts and producible definitions.
- Participate in gated process and product reviews.
- Present PFMECA readiness information to both internal and external customers for process and training purposes.
- Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
- Assist in developing and maintaining manufacturing training requirements.
- Support definition of required tooling methodologies to ensure consistent process application
- Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
- Assist in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.
- Identify leading edge technologies, materials, or process improvements and targeted automation to improve ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule.
- Develop and monitor process pareto items to identify and correct drift as well as identify and implement continuous improvement to product and process.
- Resolve technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost, and schedule.

- Maintaining production procedure and documentation.
- Experience with Lean events (AIW, 3P etc.)
- Experience with Factory Automation business capabilities such as machine tool integration or fabrication.
- Experience in RCCA.
- Experience with Database design or database development (SQL preferred).
- Experience as process trainer.
- Familiarity with AS9100, NASA, AIAA, and other Aerospace standards.
- Experience in hands on troubleshooting and resolving process, test, or software issues.
