About the Role

Dandy is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Design Engineer with expertise in product manufacturing and new product introduction(NPI).  The Manufacturing Design Engineer is responsible for managing and guiding development activities of highly skilled process development, NPI, and lab technician teams within Dandy’s Manufacturing Design group. This person will support the team to develop processes for building extraordinary products from existing and new ideas based on business needs. This person should possess a blend of business and technical knowledge, allowing for big-picture vision and the ability to dive deep into specific challenges. MD team members operate autonomously, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, and juggle competing priorities with ease.


What You'll Do

  • Manage innovation within the manufacturing design team by challenging the technical team to implement new processes while maintaining timely readiness for mass production. 

  • Build consensus by engaging with a talented engineering team, the executive leadership team, and an international supply chain. 

  • Work with go-to-market teams to strategize and launch these products

  • Create process development schedules indicating critical path and key decision milestones

  • Facilitate communication and cross functional alignment within the Manufacturing Design organization and with other Dandy teams

  • Drive suppliers, integrate their deliverables and schedules into the overall project

  • Utilize a multi-functional team of engineers to meet overall program objectives 

  • Drive issue resolution and risk management in order to meet timeline 

  • Work with Advance Manufacturing team to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers  

  • Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc.   Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and suppliers 

  • Processes involved: CNC Machining, Surface Finishing, Polishing, Painting and Quality Controls 

  • Travel 25-50%

What We're Looking For

  • B.S/M.S in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Metallurgy; or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability

  • 4+ years of program management experience with accomplishments in concept to market product and process development

  • Ability to lead concept, design and proof of concept work with minimal supervision and guidance. 

  • Experienced working with multidisciplinary groups, driving schedule and tasks

  • Experience bringing new products to market using design controls: Proto, EVT, DVT & PVT

  • Experience with dental products (preferred)
