ROLE TITLE: Managing Director, Analytics & Reporting 

REPORTS TO: VP, Capabilities & Infrastructure

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Managing Director, Analytics & Reporting within the Program Impact, Learning, and Evaluation team, you will leverage your skills in exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and BI reporting to support the delivery and continuous improvement of Teach For America’s programs. You will work collaboratively with our team’s subject-matter and technical experts while embedded in an evolving set of projects and project teams. This role is ideal for a data professional with strong experience in data analysis and demonstrated skills in transforming data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will work across structured and unstructured data sources to do analysis and predictive modeling, maintain and improve Power BI reports, and respond to ad hoc requests with a strong client service mindset.  

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

The Managing Director, Analytics & Reporting will be responsible for analysis (40%), data management (20%), reporting (20%), and strategic consulting (20%), including but not limited to:

  • Conducting exploratory analysis of diverse and sometimes messy data sets ranging from student achievement data to program participant surveys in order to improve programmatic outcomes and support continuous improvement. 

  • Developing predictive models that enable teams working in recruitment, training, and support roles to increase ROI. 

  • Cleaning and organizing data sets and developing accompanying documentation to enable utilization across myriad reporting and analysis projects led by the PILE team.

  • Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of a suite of Power BI reports managed by the PILE team to enable the enterprise to monitor progress across key initiatives and programs.

  • Efficiently managing ad hoc data requests from a variety of different clients to deliver a strong partner experience.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • At least seven years of experience in data analytics and reporting.

  • Experience working with education data is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Strong statistical skills with particular strength in exploratory analysis and predictive modeling.

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools, preference for Power BI.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and deploy new skills on the job.

  • Strong ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear manner, both in writing and verbally.

WORK DEMANDS

  • Working with colleagues who are based all over the country, using remote technologies

  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities up to 1-2 times/quarter

The Program Impact, Learning, and Evaluation team is a diverse and dynamic group of individuals who are passionate about solving the challenges that ensure the ability for TFA to meet its goal of education equity. The team is responsible for evaluating and supporting TFA's performance and program effectiveness through the use of metrics, strategic insights, analytics, research, and classroom outcomes to drive improvement, increase impact, and contribute knowledge.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost-of-labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Tier A: $90,000 - $122,800

Tier B: $98,000 - $133,800

Tier C: $106,100 - $144,800
