The Solutions Engineering Manager plays a key role in securing new business and ensuring efficient launches across all facilities. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design Customer specific solutions and Best in Class response to Customer Request for Quotations (RFQs), contract renewals, major operational scope changes, and innovation opportunities requiring the services of regional Solutions Engineering

  • Work closely with the nominated SMEs across all disciplines to align the internal and external requirements and deliverables to design, calculate, document, price, respond, present, review and plan the implementation of the customer solutions

  • Work to standardize and where possible automate repeating elements of the RFQ response process with engineering tools/templates in order reduce the burden of the response effort, reduce turnaround time to assist resource concentration on the design phase of the optimal Customer Solutions; Share best practices and models to enhance cross functional knowledge sharing & enhance individual outputs or reduce lead-times

  • Work with external partners in the development of automated material handling systems and storage solutions that meet the requirements of solution proposals

  • Lead and/or participate in the launch of awarded new business.  Ensure all responsibilities of Launch Engineering are completed on time and on budget for assigned launches

  • Ability to alternately work as individual contributor and manage others simultaneously on multiple initiatives and projects

  • Prioritize the workload for the supporting Operations, IT, Procurement, Real Estate and Finance SMEs to determine solution and lead-time feasibility, work closely with the Sales team and Bid Manager to provide monthly workload visibility

  • Partner with Solutions Engineering as a subject matter expert to deliver data center deployments for hyperscale and cloud environments on time and within budget; Lead implementation of infrastructure, workflows, and operational readiness activities, including commissioning, capacity validation, and performance testing

  • Serve as the Engineering SME for standards design, implementation, and continuous evolution across data center and cloud operations; Develop and maintain process documentation, ensuring SOPs align with hyperscaler requirements and site-specific operational models

  • Lead pricing and cost management for data center and cloud operations, including developing pricing models, supporting bids, and ensuring alignment with hyperscaler and customer requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across data center and cloud environments, partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, optimize performance, and scale operations effectively

  • Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute successful deployments, including leading kickoff meetings, requirements discovery, user acceptance testing, and go-live readiness for hyperscale programs

  • Support development and validation of risk mitigation strategies to ensure secure, resilient, and high-quality deployments across data center and cloud platforms

  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering and third-party vendors to design and integrate automation into data center and cloud solutions; Provide oversight from concept through execution and challenge designs to meet hyperscaler standards and scalability requirements


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field)
  • Experience supporting greenfield and brownfield data center builds or infrastructure deployments
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, network architecture, and IT/OT convergence
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler standards, cloud operations, and high-availability environments
  • Experience with agile project management and cross-functional delivery models
  • Knowledge of orchestration platforms, infrastructure provisioning, and workload management systems
  • Ability to travel 25–50%
  • 5–7 years of experience leading or supporting data center deployments, commissioning, or operational readiness activities, including infrastructure validation and go-live execution
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, or managing data center infrastructure solutions (power, cooling, network, or automation systems)
    OR
  • 3+ years of experience working with a data center provider, cloud operator, or infrastructure integrator

     

    PREFERRED:

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience working with hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Bilingual (Spanish, English)
