In this role, you will lead teams of software engineers responsible for our InsightIDR product. The team is responsible for building the frontend for the detection and response product on the Insight Platform. You will work closely with an outstanding peer group of highly skilled engineers to prioritize and set the teams' direction.

As a senior Software Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day operations of your team and address any issues that arise quickly and effectively. First and foremost, you will coach and develop the individuals on your team so they feel supported.
Specifically, your focus will be to:
- Directly manage multiple team members, coach and mentor team members, including scoping work and prioritising tasks
- Mentor engineers and help them grow their skills, identify growth areas, set expectations, and provide feedback
- Managing projects and socialising progress across engineering teams and leadership
- Keep a keen eye on quality, performance, and security posture, and continue to drive improvements to testing, scalability, monitoring and alerting
- Work cross functionally with PM, UX, and Engineering to address specific customer pain points and to think strategically about the future direction of the product
- Work closely with other managers and teams across the InsightIDR team to align efforts and initiatives
- Kickstart new ideas, build proof of concepts, and jumpstart newly funded projects
- Managing projects and socialising progress across engineering teams and leadership
- Lead JIRA boards, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions
The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
- 5+ years of programming experience
- 3+ years of experience in management
- A track record for mentoring and growing software engineers at all levels
- A demonstrable passion for all things software engineering, including knowledge of React, Design systems, and TypeScript
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience working cross-functionally with PM and Engineering teams
- Experience with managing multiple high-impact projects
- Capable of managing high-intensity situations when they arise
- BEng, BSc, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
