What you'll work on:
- Oversee daily operations of agile engineering teams specializing in blockchain technologies, including requirements grooming for smart contracts, scrums for decentralized applications, retrospectives, and team-building events focused on innovation in the web3 space.
- Design, build, and maintain blockchain APIs and user-facing decentralized applications (dApps), services, and systems that facilitate seamless interaction with stablecoins and other crypto assets.
- Provide technical and architectural direction for the development of blockchain solutions, guiding the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of our decentralized platforms to ensure scalability and security.
- Lead agile methodologies tailored for blockchain engineering teams and introduce industry best practices focused on smart contract development, decentralized finance (DeFi), and user experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align engineering contributions with company goals, developing technology roadmaps for blockchain initiatives and setting realistic timelines for product launches in the fast-paced crypto environment.
- Foster the complete lifecycle of team management to attract and retain top blockchain talent (e.g., mentoring in solidity development, recruiting experts in crypto technology, training on regulatory compliance, and conducting performance evaluations).
- Act as a technology ambassador for the engineering team within the blockchain ecosystem, effectively communicating the opportunities and constraints that decentralized technologies present for project advancement.
- Manage technical debt associated with blockchain systems to maintain responsive and predictable development cycles while minimizing the risk of vulnerabilities and production incidents affecting our operations.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of the management team, enhancing pioneering blockchain projects and sharing knowledge on best practices across different teams.
- Coordinate the execution of cross-functional activities that integrate blockchain innovation with other areas of the organization, ensuring cohesive progress toward our vision in the web3 landscape.
What you'll bring to Circle:
- 3 or more years of experience with technical leadership
- 7 or more years of experience with software engineering
- 3 or more years experience coding in one of the following languages: Go, Java, and/or Javascript
- Hands on technical manager experienced in designing, building and deploying secure, scalable products and services
- You love the idea of coaching and building leaders (both within your direct team and outside of your team)
- You have a passion for enabling and motivating people to do their best work
- You work very well cross-functionally, and are able to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
- You have experience managing remote teams
- The ability to thrive on a fast pace environment with high level of autonomy and responsibilities
