At Ping Identity, we believe in making digital experiences both secure and seamless for all users, without compromise. We call this digital freedom. And it's not just something we provide our customers. It's something that inspires our company. People don't come here to join a culture that's built on digital freedom. They come to cultivate it.

Our intelligent, cloud identity platform lets people shop, work, bank, and interact wherever and however they want. Without friction. Without fear.

While protecting digital identities is at the core of our technology, protecting individual identities is at the core of our culture. We champion every identity. One of our core values, Respect Individuality, reminds us to celebrate differences so you are empowered to bring your authentic self to work.

We're headquartered in Denver, Colorado and we have offices and employees around the globe. We serve the largest, most demanding enterprises worldwide, including more than half of the Fortune 100. At Ping Identity, we're changing the way people and businesses think about cybersecurity, digital experiences, and identity and access management.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cloud SRE Manager to lead our dedicated team responsible for our Government Cloud environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring our cloud services meet the stringent reliability, security, and compliance requirements of our public sector customers. Reporting to the Director of Cloud Operations, you will guide a team of Site Reliability Engineers, drive automation, and own the operational health necessary to maintain our FedRamp-authorized services and Authorization to Operate (ATO). Your leadership will be critical in scaling our government cloud offerings while maintaining the highest standards of performance and operational rigor within strict government confines.

You will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Site Reliability Engineers, partnering with the People team to recruit and retain top-tier talent.
  • Oversee the availability, latency, performance, and capacity of services within our FedRamp and DoD compliant environments.
  • Manage a global on-call rotation using a follow-the-sun model, lead the incident response process, and conduct blameless post-mortems to prevent recurrence while satisfying all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Drive the automation of infrastructure, build/release processes, and operations to reduce manual overhead and improve reliability and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain the Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) program for the environment, ensuring the timely collection and reporting of evidence (e.g., vulnerability scans, audit logs).
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to scope, plan, and execute on the SRE roadmap.
  • Collaborate intimately with Security and Compliance teams to ensure our services meet and exceed government compliance and security standards, including active participation in the annual audit cycle.

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering role, with at least 2 years in a management position, preferably in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) domain.
  • Hands-on, demonstrable experience participating in a regulated audit cycle (e.g., FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, or similar highly-regulated framework). This includes practical experience with managing and remediating Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) and contributing to the System Security Plan (SSP).
  • Intimate knowledge of security and compliance controls, preferably from the NIST SP 800-53 framework, and how to implement them operationally.
  • Expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), and version control (Git).
  • Proficiency in a scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Bash.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

You have an advantage if:

  • You have experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • You have experience implementing compliance-as-code or audit-as-code solutions to automate evidence generation.
  • You have experience with incident management and monitoring tools like PagerDuty, Splunk, Prometheus, or Datadog.
  • You hold professional certifications related to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) or security.
  • You possess a deep understanding of security best practices for cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
  • You have direct experience working with a government agency or public sector clients.
  • You have prior experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth company environment.

Salary Range: $132,000-$210,000
