Manager, Provider Accounts

As a Provider Account Manager is an advocate for Network Providers, one of Lantern’s most important customer groups. Provider Account Managers build strong, trusting relationships with Network Providers and act as a lead resource and principal point-of-contact.  Working closely with Practice Management, Scheduling, and Billing offices, the Account Manager is responsible for the proactive management of the claims, reimbursement, and support processes for the Network Provider relationship – as well as a full understanding of the practice’s revenue cycle. This includes a thorough understanding of systems, process and service specific requirements, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Relationship Management: Drive regular meetings with your assigned practices to review current pipeline activity, identify issues for resolution, and report on key metrics. 
  • Book-of-Business Expertise: Develop subject matter expertise on the Network Providers in your book of business. This role serves as the Lantern expert on contract and reimbursement terms, EMR and AR systems, billing practices, and points-of-contact at their practices.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Monitor all aspects of the end-to-end reimbursement process for the accounts assigned to you, and assist staff with their work queue(s) when necessary. Your role is to ensure a smooth and timely reimbursement to your Network Providers, and you’re ready to roll up your sleeves when necessary.
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate with internal teams and external Network Providers when things don’t go according to plan. You’ll diagnose root causes, identify remediation plans, and work with all stakeholders to advocate for your practices best outcomes.
  • Trend Analysis and Reporting: Review claims and support data to measure SLA and contract compliance, and report on trends and opportunities for improvement to your practices, your team, and senior leadership. 

Qualifications Include: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a professional healthcare setting, preferably with RCM and/or claims processing experience
  • Skills:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    • Microsoft Excel ninja – SQL and Python skills preferred
    • Detailed knowledge of healthcare claims processing, managed care network management, and revenue cycle management
    • Medicare billing experience strongly preferred, or knowledge of Medicare billing rules
