Manager, People Experience
This is a role for a passionate People partner who enjoys a mix of strategic influence, tactical ownership and building relationships. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with managers to support team effectiveness and employee engagement, while also being deeply involved in running core people programs. One moment you might be coaching a manager through a performance concern; the next, you’re leading new hires through an onboarding session or building Notion pages to inform employees of a new people program. Flexibility, passion for working with employees, and a hands-on mindset are essential — no task is too big or too small.
You’ll be a key connector across the People team, partnering with your peers in People Operations and Talent to provide a supportive and positive workplace culture. You’ll be a peer to our Senior Manager of People Operations, and the two of you will serve as mutual backups across your respective workstreams. This means you’ll bring a generalist mindset, even though your primary focus will be on HR business partnership and employee experience. The ability to flex and the willingness to jump in wherever needed is critical. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President of People.
As the Manager, People Experience, you’ll…
- Provide coaching and support to managers on topics such as effective feedback, conflict resolution, engagement, and team dynamics.
- Serve as a resource to employees, helping resolve concerns or misunderstandings and supporting a fair and inclusive employee experience.
- Work directly with managers and leaders across the business to support team effectiveness, address underperformance, and provide thought partnership on complex situations.
- Own and continuously improve employee lifecycle programs, including onboarding, offboarding (to include terminations if necessary and voluntary exit interviews), internal promotions and transfers.
- Improve upon existing and implement community-building initiatives for our distributed workforce, managing community connection programs (coworking, Slack groups, local employee meetups etc.) that reflect our values and support remote culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Legal, Payroll, Accounting, and IT to align on shared workstreams, ensure seamless execution of employee lifecycle events, and reduce friction across systems and processes.
- Monitor workplace trends and feedback to proactively recommend improvements to policies, manager enablement, and communication strategies
What will you bring to this role…
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on business partnering, employee relations, and employee lifecycle management.
- A solid foundation in HR administration and generalist responsibilities, including exposure to workstreams such as benefits, immigration, leaves of absence, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Prior experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments, with an ability to adapt and thrive amid change and ambiguity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically to wide audiences.
- Proven project management capabilities — skilled in driving initiatives from concept to execution with strong attention to timelines, stakeholders, and impact.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred.
- Familiarity with a wide range of systems and tools such as Paylocity, Rippling, Pave, Lattice, Greenhouse, Excel, Notion, and GSuite is strongly preferred.
