Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we’re on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We’re a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software.

What You’ll Be Launching

As the Manager, Orbital Analysis, you will lead a globally distributed team delivering Slingshot’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) operations. Leveraging data from the Slingshot Global Sensor Network (GSN) and additional sensor sources, your team will provide operational analyses, mission insights, and customer support to commercial, civil, and government partners worldwide.

This role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and technical guidance in a fast-paced mission environment. You will oversee day-to-day analyst operations, customer deliverables, and mission execution while partnering closely with technology and program teams to improve workflows and operational readiness.

We’re looking for a collaborative and mission-oriented leader who thrives in operational environments, enjoys developing high-performing teams, and is passionate about advancing the future of space domain awareness.

We’re building a team of curious, collaborative people who care deeply about solving complex problems and supporting safer space operations. Bring your operational expertise, leadership mindset, and drive for continuous improvement. We’ll provide the mission, the team, and the opportunity to make meaningful impact.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

  • Lead and develop a distributed team of orbital analysts responsible for analyzing GSN data and delivering actionable operational insights
  • Support contracts regarding the provision of GSN data and orbital analyst support as well as contracts involving analysis at space operations centers (e.g., the 18th Space Defense Squadron)
  • Engage regularly with government, civil, and commercial customers to provide mission updates, operational support, and technical guidance
  • Review and validate analysis products and customer deliverables to ensure operational accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Serve as Slingshot’s Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) on GSN data sale contracts
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, mission readiness, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage analyst workloads, team priorities, operational metrics, and mission timelines to support successful execution of customer requirements
  • Support surge or after-hours operational activities during critical mission events when required
  • Oversee workflows supporting space domain awareness, sensor tasking, orbital event assessment, conjunction analysis, and customer reporting
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development activities for the Orbital Analyst team
  • Execute responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s mission, values, ethical standards, and operational culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)

Pre-flight Checklist

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, astronomy, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting SDA, SSA/STC, orbital analysis, space operations, or related aerospace mission environments, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once in accordance with operational and budgetary plans and priorities
  • Experience leading technical teams, mission operations, or operational programs in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working with optical systems, telescopes, sensor operations, or space surveillance systems
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to operate effectively in time-sensitive situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple operational priorities, customer deliverables, and distributed team coordination simultaneously
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across distributed international teams and multiple time zones
  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances, preference for existing active clearances

Bonus Cargo

  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth aerospace environment
  • Experience supporting government, civil, or commercial space customers
  • Experience with professional optical telescopes, sensor tasking operations, or observational data analysis
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics, conjunction assessment workflows, and operational SDA/SSA systems
  • Experience supporting classified or operational mission environments
  • Experience developing analyst training, onboarding programs, or operational procedures
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, or data analysis tools used in orbital analysis workflows
  • Experience leading distributed or international operational teams

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.
