IMO Health is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager, Health Informatics Engineering to lead and support the growth of a specialized team of terminology analysts. This role is essential in advancing our clinical terminology initiatives and ensuring the delivery of semantically rich, high-quality data that powers IMO’s products and services.
As the Manager, you will mentor and develop a team of talented analysts, oversee terminology workflows, and serve as a key liaison across engineering, product, and content teams. Your leadership will help guide strategic informatics efforts, drive alignment on clinical standards, and foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead and Develop Your Team: Manage and mentor a team of terminology analysts, supporting their professional growth and fostering career pathways in emerging areas such as knowledge graph development.
- Ensure Terminology Quality: Oversee the management, enhancement, and delivery of clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, ICD-10, LOINC, RxNorm) in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to the development of terminology strategies and informatics processes that support IMO’s foundational data assets.
- Facilitate Agile Processes: Champion Agile/Scrum practices, helping your team work efficiently, adapt to evolving priorities, and align with organizational goals.
- Act as a Technical Liaison: Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration and utility of terminology content within broader data engineering pipelines and product features.
- Coach and Provide Feedback: Offer regular performance feedback, conduct reviews, and guide individual development plans to enhance skillsets and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support Team Operations: Manage team resourcing, approve timesheets and PTO, and support departmental reporting related to productivity and contribution.
- Champion Collaboration: Build strong partnerships across content, clinical, and technical teams to drive effective problem solving and improve delivery outcomes.
- Influence Organizational Change: Help promote agile values and drive continuous improvement across team processes, culture, and communication.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 7–10+ years of experience in health informatics, clinical terminology, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, clinical, or health-related field (Master’s preferred).
- Deep knowledge of clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, ICD-10, RxNorm) and healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7 FHIR, OMOP CDM).
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing team members in content-focused or informatics roles.
- Familiarity with data engineering principles and tools, with the ability to engage in technical discussions and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical and clinical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Understanding of healthcare data governance and regulatory standards such as HIPAA.
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
