The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting across the United States, Canada, and Latin America (collectively, the "region"). This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control standards while partnering closely with finance, accounting, and business leaders across the organization.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Manager will provide technical accounting guidance, lead regional reporting activities, support audit and compliance initiatives, and develop a high-performing financial reporting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with a strong foundation in financial reporting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, and process improvement who enjoys collaborating across a global organization.

This is a hybrid position (in office at least 3x per week) based in our Charlotte, NC office.

FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Provide oversight and review of the region’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting forms that are used to complete Xylem’s SEC filings.

  • Partner with Xylem’s Global technical accounting team to assess the impact of new accounting guidance and ensure applicable requirements are properly implemented by regional businesses.

  • Review and advise the region’s accounting and operational finance teams on technical accounting matters as they arise, including restructuring, hedge accounting, legal matters and leases.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as FP&A, legal, treasury, and operational finance, to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare and provide training on various accounting and reporting topics to the region’s accounting and operational finance teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of the region’s reporting processes.

  • Partner with Xylem’s compliance team to strengthen internal controls and support Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

  • Supervise, develop and mentor two financial reporting staff.

  • Liaise with internal and external audit as they conduct reviews within the region.

  • Perform special projects and analyses as needed.

FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • CPA designation.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including experience within public accounting and/or a large public company environment.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • U.S. GAAP

    • Financial statement preparation

    • SEC reporting requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with financial reporting and consolidation tools such as OneStream.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and/or SAP.

  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.

  • Prior leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.

The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
