Finance and Business Operations Director

About the job

XO Health’s mission is to bring trust, transparency, and common sense to healthcare. We have a vision to upend today's healthcare system by completely rewiring payment, benefits and experience.

Our data and tech solutions are built on a foundation of real-time data and analytics. Become part of the multi-disciplinary community changing the face of the industry.

About the Role

We are hiring for a critical Business Operations and Finance role that will work closely with XO Health’s senior leadership across strategy, analytics, product, and operations. This person will play a central role in driving the company’s most important cross-functional initiatives and shaping how we execute on our mission to rebuild trust in healthcare.

As a core member of our team, you will lead high-impact strategic and operational projects; design, implement and improve scalable processes; and build the analytics and reporting infrastructure to support decision-making across the organization. You’ll be responsible for synthesizing and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders, while facilitating problem solving to optimize XO’s operations, financial performance, risk, and growth.

Ideal candidates are curious and structured thinkers who thrive in ambiguous environments, enjoy building from the ground up, and are passionate about using data to drive impact. You should feel confident collaborating across diverse team-spanning product, clinical, actuarial, and network—and communicating effectively with executive leadership and partners alike.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment across product, clinical, network, and finance & risk teams.
  • Support corporate strategy initiatives, including capital allocation, build financial and operational models to evaluate new product strategies, and evaluate corporate development opportunities — helping ensure XO’s strategy aligns with broader business priorities.
  • Support executive decision-making by developing and delivering high-impact communications, presentations, insights, and recommendations.
  • Enable commercial team success by driving operational improvements—including process enhancements, technology-enabled solutions, and thoughtful prioritization—to support scalable growth and execution.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, unit economics, and growth opportunities. Conduct risk analysis and scenario modeling to inform strategic planning and operational decisions.
  • Design and implement scalable reporting frameworks to track key business and operational metrics.
  • Perform advanced data modeling and analytics to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and support real-time decision-making.
  • Own cross-functional projects from idea to rollout, working across Operations, Risk, Finance, Clinical, and Network teams.
  • Support vendor management and evaluation efforts—ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders and helping assess fit, performance, and value.
  • Align with XO’s technology roadmap, identifying opportunities to support automation, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable tool development in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Ops leaders.

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare finance, analytics, or strategy (strongly preferred) but we are open to a range of experience levels for this role and expect the exact scope to evolve based on the strengths of the candidate.
  • Prior experience required from McKinsey, Bain, or BCG level consulting firms.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to distill complex topics into clear, compelling insights for senior stakeholders. Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced, startup-style environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects with minimal oversight.
  • Mission-driven mindset and excitement to make healthcare smarter and more sustainable.

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
