The Role:
The Manager, Data Support and Operations leads a team responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing Xylem’s enterprise data systems. This role ensures data availability, system performance, and effective incident response while driving continuous improvement across data support processes. The manager collaborates cross-functionally with IT, data engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure data reliability, compliance, and end-user satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of data support professionals providing technical support across Xylem’s enterprise data and analytics systems.
Manage incident response and service requests, ensuring timely resolution of P1–P3 issues and adherence to SLAs.
Oversee data system maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimization to ensure uptime, data quality, and reliability.
Partner with IT, data engineering, and business stakeholders to align infrastructure, security, and governance standards.
Maintain user access controls, documentation, and training materials that promote data integrity and user enablement.
Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and prevent recurring issues.
Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration through coaching, mentorship, and team development.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
5–8 years of experience in data operations, support, or technical leadership roles.
Proficient in BI and data integration tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory.
Skilled with SQL/NoSQL databases, ETL workflows, and modern data warehouse technologies (e.g., Databricks, SAP BW/DW).
Experience with cloud data platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and security best practices.
Proven ability to manage incident response (P1–P3), SLAs, and stakeholder communications.
Hands-on experience with system monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Nagios) and ITIL-based support frameworks.
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and leadership skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, ITIL, or cloud credentials (AWS or Azure).
Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Bash) to improve data support efficiency.
Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks and best practices.
Proven success leading cross-functional teams on data support or optimization projects.
Strong focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and proactive problem prevention.
