The Opportunity

This Manager of Customer Project Management will provide strategic oversight, mentoring, and standardization for our team of Public Safety focused Customer Project Managers. They will ensure project delivery aligns with business goals, manage resource allocation across projects, and optimize processes to keep projects on track. This role is responsible for the successful on-time completion of projects their team handles and for managing interactions between different internal departments, as well as clients and vendors. The work performed in this role will directly impact the productivity and effectiveness of the project team and resulting in customer satisfaction. As such, this role is responsible for the strategic planning, performance management, decision-making, and driving team motivation and accountability. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight & Governance: Defines, implements, and maintains standardized project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including the development and implementation of standard project management processes and best practices.

People Leadership & Mentoring: Responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching, and evaluating performance for a team of project managers. Guides the team to achieve organizational goals by setting a clear vision, fostering a positive culture, and mentoring employees to reach their full potential.

Portfolio Management: Oversees multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule across the portfolio. Forecasts and tracks the team’s projects toward the achievement of the progress and revenue targets. 

Stakeholder & Risk Management: Addresses high-level risks, resolves cross-project dependencies, and acts as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by individual project managers. Follows up with team members to proactively avoid repeat problems for future implementations. 

Resource Allocation: Ensures proper staffing across the portfolio and manages the allocation of resources to align with company priorities.

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related area, or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of strong leadership and people management experience

  • 5+ years of customer facing Project Management experience

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodology and processes

  • Demonstrated ability in setting strategy, driving performance, consistently producing superior results, cultivating ownership while enforcing company policies

  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence and drive action

  • Displays collaborative management style and a strong customer service orientation

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts

  • Solution-oriented and creative thinking skills to evaluate the problem and to drive win-win outcomes

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Relentless focus on process improvement execution

  • Must be able to comfortably and effectively present to audiences of various sizes 

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% travel during the implementation of projects

  • PMP a plus but not required

  • Public Safety experience also a plus, but not required


CJIS Clearance 

A required part of the onboarding process for this role involves obtaining CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) clearance—a critical credential for safeguarding public safety data. At CentralSquare, we’ll stand with you every step of the way to secure this clearance should you be selected for hire. As part of the process, a comprehensive background check will be conducted, and please note that U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is generally required to obtain CJIS clearance.
